If Lennon is confirmed as interim and makes a decent stab of the remainder of the season (i.e. wins the two trophies for which Celtic are massive, short-odds favourites) then he stands a pretty reasonable chance of getting the gig full-time. 

 

As for Rodgers being bang-average... have to agree. Out-performance at Celtic basically means performing well in Europe, an environment in which he has been as disappointing for them as Deila.

Lennon with Sevco that close would be a big risk imo. Celtic have a bit of a cushion but still need to play Sevco twice. I suppose changing anything at this point is a risk though and don't think they'd be able to get genuine quality in if they just want to get to the end of the season unless thet have someone permanent lined up. Which you'd imagine they couldn't, really.

 

Just a shame we aren't closer. If the gap had been half as much, we could have really fancied our chances. 13 points is just too much to make up even if the wheels do start to come off.

I heard on the radio that the playing budget at Celtic under Rodgers is double that of Deila's Celtic team.

To me it is about Europe. Did not get the backing to improve the side from the Board.  In terms of coaching ability, both Clarke and to lesser extent McInnes and Wright have shown much more with a much smaller budgets in terms of domestic play.  All the trebles should have an asterisk beside them due to Rangers, Hibs and Hearts all still trying to recover from relegation and/or administration. Should be interesting to see which Celtic players follow him down south.
