  1. A perfect summary of the Dave Cormack tenure as Chairman.
  2. Yes,you could not in all seriousness promote Aberdeen and Scottish football as a great enjoyable spectacle nowadays.Derek Adams was very emotional and had just lost a football match, but he was spot on .The standard and quality at Scottish football matches is just dire and getting worse.
  3. An eloquent and well written contribution.
  4. Worthy of some of the very excellent pieces by young graham on the Cormack thread !!!
  5. Very well said, young man ! He was on Off the Ball every week for months, despite having no discernible interest in football. He became more smug and more pleased with himself with every passing week.
  6. Thank you elephantstone,no extra time required indeed,it was the playing with ten men for seventy five minutes and Jonny Hayes last minute goal that made that a memorable night.Andrew Considine came on to help shore up the defence and scored the opener with five minutes to go.I can well imagine that would have been a great game to have been there. Was exciting just listening to Radio Scotland that night !
  7. Much as I eventually got sickened and fed up by Derek McInnes as Aberdeen manager it cannot be denied he built a good consistent team in his early years and is doing a similar good job at Kilmarnock just now.Derek McInnes will be keen to do well tomorrow and never mind tired , Aberdeen will be understandably shattered after Thursday night ,and Aberdeen will be doing very well to win Sunday lunchtime .An interesting match indeed tomorrow.
  8. I was pleased for Joe Shaughnessy and Tony Docherty today.I can remember Joe Shaughnessy got sent off one night against Motherwell League Cup tie and Aberdeen came through to win in extra time.Might even have been the season we won the League Cup.Joe Shaughnessy Aberdeen career was never quite the same after that.Apocryphal tale that Joe had to buy the fish suppers on the bus home from Motherwell.Thereafter Joe Shaughnessy was in about the Aberdeen squad but seldom played.Eventually left, played at Southend ,St Johnstone captain, now skipper at Dundee, scoring a double near the end today at Livingston. No surprise,Joe was a regular Aberdeen u18 scorer at Balgownie in Friday afternoon games at corners and set pieces.Pleased to see Joe Shaughnessy doing well.
  9. I quite liked Greiig Leigh, could tackle and few wingers beat him for pace down the wing.Do not remember his Aberdeen goal. Will watch out for Oxford United game Sunday morning when I catch up with English leagues.
  10. Graeme Stewart aka Spider, a very good manager at Buckie Thistle.Recollection of him being approachable and helpful as a Peterhead player.Onw of those folk that loves his football without feeling the need to fall out with folk over football. He will have Buckie well set up for semi final tie.I would not worry about Aberdeen first team duds being available, same as tonight,U18s and young loanees like Alfie Bavidge,Liam Harvey will make up a competitive side to take on Buckie on Wednesday 8th November.Thank you for date Reed or deed
  11. Terry Taylor now at Charlton Athletic after playing for Aberdeen U20s at 14 and then joining Wolves very young, then Burton Albiion and now at Charlton.Has also played for Wales U21s.Good player, unsure how he would have done had he stayed at Aberdeen ,some managers would have liked him, some maybe not.
  12. To save everyone 1.90!,,on the P&J in t he morning Quarter final results tonight. . ........., ......... Keith 1 v Huntly3......Formartine 0 v Banks o' Dee 5 and Inverurie Locos 1 v Buckie Thistle 5 and of course Aberdeen 5 v Turriff United 1 at the Haughs in Turriff.
  13. Thanks RDS,the semi i final draw resulted, ,Hunrtly v Banks p ' Dee and Aberdeen v Buckie Thistle, very likely to be played at Victoria Park in Buckie
  14. A good win by a combined U18s and young players out on loan.Big Aaron Reid not getting much game time at Peterhead scored for Aberdeen XI against his old team Turriff United.,Aaron Reid very tall striker usually played alone up front by a team likely to be defending deep most of the game.Unlokelly to be the case for Aberdeen tonight you would hope. Not there tonight , pleased a young Aberdeen side pulled away to eventually win well.Shocked that Brendan Hamilton sent off.He gets stuck on but no history for bad tackles and poor temperamental.
