Guest the shepherd
Pretty disgusting slagging off a player so early in his dons career IMO.No slagging off min just pure constructive criticism, all backed with fact. Don't like being critical of any player that pulls on the hallowed red shirt but know within a couple of games, sometimes a game (Pepper and Kristjansson, e.g ) if a player is good enough or not for Aberdeen. Shinniesta
He was MOTM against Celtic in the SC semi-final that the huns won on penalties a year and a half ago so there is a player in there somewhere. I won't write him off just yet. But he's had a poor start up here no doubt about that. 1 Link to comment

Better than a lot of others.67mins v Motherwell where it seems pretty much the bulk of the team was shite. Yeah. A wee bit early to write him off. I think the whole team performance & result is blinkering a few. I'll give a few more games before judging him one way or other Link to comment

Reliablesource
He's shite The end.Sums it up really. His positional sense is way off. His passing is poor and his decision making (and speed of it) is terrible. From what I've seen so far. Three of the main traits needed to succeed at holding midfield. He is currently not good enough for this level. May come good but I haven't seen much to hold out much hope. We all hate the rat and he's far from a brilliant footballer but Ball is nowhere near even that level yet. Hope I'm either proved wrong on Ball or Arnason is able to fill in there till Tansey is fit. Sheepo
He looks like a centre half playing in midfield because that is what he is. Either play him at centre half or forget him, not sure why we need a big lump in midfield anyway, it just gives you one less creative/Attacking player Link to comment
Donstar83
Worth keeping for another year as a midfielder? We are going to need back ups as well as direct replacements for O'connor and McLean anyway? Link to comment
Don Fonte
I think he's a better central midfielder than AOC. Doesn't really answer your question though donstar83. Link to comment

DelMonte
Every game he's played in midfield he's been good. Hung out to dry at Hampden in a position he can't play. Was near enough our best player last night, the amount of times he made an interception and started an attack was superb. No thrills and kept it simple. Link to comment

We can definitely sign better than him. Link to comment

The Oxford Don
He did absolutely fine last night, in what is very obviously his correct position. The game against Hibs will be several orders of magnitude more difficult and will give a much better indication of whether or not he’s actually worth keeping. Link to comment
Tord31
as much of a disaster as Tansey was in his first season he'll be welcomed back with open arms considering weve used O'Connor, Ball and Nwakali in there during the second half of the season 1 Link to comment
mcdougall(4)
if playing ball in midfield, where he looks much more comfortable, means shinnie plays left back then it's worth it Link to comment
