Spfl Referees Are Shite Thread

Recommended Posts

Are our refs seriously any worse than other counties?

Yes is the simple answer. They are from a bygone era.

Aye sure, there are shite decisions and poor reffing performances all over the world. You could find fault everywhere but ffs, we've only got about 5 games a week under the spotlight. Each one is a fucking reffing joke. Every game you could sit and watch and I guarantee that at some stage you'd be thinking about the ref and how he's totally lost control or has no clue what he's doing, that's each game.

The linesmen are just as bad. They aren't dealing with the high pressure, constantly on the edge offside decision against the world's best and fastest strikers like the epl or la liga for examples. They are just getting ordinary decisions spectacularly wrong, consistently, every week.

Are our refs seriously any worse than other counties? In England there was a number of shocking decisions this weekend. In Spain, Barcelona were denied a goal that was about 3 yards over the line. Seems most countries have the same problem apart from Germany and Italy where they've introduced VAR.

Could be wrong, but I remember it being a breath of fresh air when the refs went on strike years ago and we got some foreign cunts in.

I think the fact they get high profile gigs in UEFA/FIFA comps and then make an absolute cunt of it (in the main) should tell you they are shit as opposed to taking back handers as some mentalists would have it.

The back handers jibes are most always just in jest but mostly just to emphasize the fact that they aren't neutral.

Very high chance that the majority of refs grew up supporting one of the arse cheeks, rather than any of the rest of the teams in Scotland. Some are proven fans by the fact they previously attended matches of their teams.

They are for the most part incompetent but also arrogantly stroll about like they are the bollocks & will never really get punished for any fk ups as long as those 'fk ups' favour one of the arse cheeks.

Some are blatantly biased as well as shit. Collum for sure. Thompson for sure & MacLean.

Wait & see tomorrow just how ridiculously biased mini Dallas is towards Sevco. He knows fine his dad will protect him & is bullet proof.

Some of the games he reffed in the Championship for Sevco were as bad as anything I witnessed from his dad.

Its a completely ambiguous question anyway (for a player at least)

Post match Sinclair basically admitted he dived at the slightest contact.

So you could say he lied to Thompson.

He didn't dive, he went down when there was contact, a dive is when there's no contact at all. It's annoying as fuck but you have too many pros and ex-pros saying it's okay to do.......no it fucking isnt, it's cheating by ungentlemanly conduct.......

It is not incompetence, it is base corruption.

In my view, there is definitely money involved and our referees are actively corrupt.

Collum went to the Euros and reffed no bother. That suggests he is far from incompetent.

Incompetence = the excuse refs use for themselves to cover their criminal activity.

It could be that our game is too fast for the part-time refs to handle properly. International matches tend to be a bit slower on larger pitches? But probably an envelope or two is involved ;)

Here's the thing you have to be a bit touched in the head to want to be a ref in the first place, just look at the poll and clattenburg types down south where they have full time refs, then you add in the arse cheek factor in Scotland, the life scrutiny etc that goes with being a ref here and which human of sound mind would do it ... So you end up with morons who're incompetent and incapable.

There's some on here who might know Morag pirie of get back in the kitchen fame

Total weapon

Refs tend to be coppers/teachers etc. A wee bit of power gives them a hard-on.

Apropos of nothing but the opportunity to use the word apropos...

Stuart Cosgrove tells a great story of sitting at McDairmed park with a ref of olden days (George Young maybe?) watching the Saints go to a dismal 0-2 against by half time. Its the days before a 4th official or maybe it was 1st Div where no such thing existed. Anyhow the call went up that one of the officials was injured and basically they were asking if there were any volunteer qualified officials in the crowd. Up jumps George (?) and as he leaves the stand with the memorable words sit tight lads were right back in this!

Aye. It's told more than the Gordon Ramsey story.

Ha ha ha but that is just how it is but with the arse cheeks employing arse cheeks all across the board including the referees, the compliance officers/ the judicial panels. The SPFL boards. The SFA suits. The media pundits.

What we would call. TOTALLY SEWN UP

To my mind that is a dive.
