Surely McInnes ……sorry …..Daaraak. ….is the benchmark. So in his first full season nothing less than qualifying for Europe through the league, winning one of the cups, beating at least one of the ugly sisters in a cup and generally getting the team playing decent football using , mainly, the players he inherited bolstered by a few astute signings (and the odd carthorse).

Well said But please clarify……At what stage will unwavering support and patience become happy-clapping and the patient fans becoming “the problem” , getting the team/club they deserve etc ?

Don’t think we went 5 at the back……. Back 4 was McLeish and McKimmie central defence with Robertson and Wright full backs. Huns were allowed to kick us off the park……Hurlock and Brown in particular got away with murder. Jess got nobbled and had to be subbed at half time….I’m pretty sure it was Hurlock that nailed him.

Second one definitely ….spilled a fairly tame shot and left Hately with a tap-in. Just about any competent keeper should have saved it. Fuck all he could do about the first.

No sub goalie in those days ….. Van de Ven went in goals that game and we still won fairly comfortably.
