Car Lcd Screens

Recommended Posts

Anyone got LCD screens in the back of their car to shut the kids up....occupy the children on long car journeys?

Any tips on what to get? Been looking at removable 10" LCD screens with DVD players build in, of the generic type the Chinese build by the bucket load.

Would like to be able to run progs off DVDs / SD card / android tablet even, ideally with all this being controlled by car passenger.

The car can play DVDs and has an SD card slot, but fuck knows how to make that play on 3rd party screens?

(Whatever happened to playing "I spy"?)

Thanks for any advice.

Depends on how much you want to spend? You can get a couple of clip on tablet style DVD players with speakers and wireless headphones on Amazon for around £140. A bit more money and you can Bluetooth everything to your DVD layer at the front, unless it's only DVD for your sat nav? And are you technical enough to install something yourself?

The amazon thing you mention sounds like the kinda thing I have been looking at.

The Car dvd player can play anything and has a hack which would allow you to watch movies on it at 70 mph on the motorway (alarm bells! usually its meant not to work if you are moving).

I certainly am not equipped to install anything myself, hence I was thinking of a heath robinson implementation with wires running everywhere etc.

Probably the cheaper option is best, incase it gets stolen / weans break it / I break it etc.

I was wondering if anyone would recommend a specific package or brand through experience?

They are too young to be able to read yet.

Another barnstorming idea, some parent you would be.

Just messing matey. We had a Toyota verso when ours were wee and the screens were built into the headrests (DVD player was under the driver seat) .

You could also connect a PlayStation to it.

The headphones were wireless as well so you could still listen to the radio while they watched a film.

We used to drive to France a lot and it was an absolute godsend ( pun intended).wouldnt hear a peep out them.

We got that car 15 years ago so these days you'll be spoilt for choice .

Have a look at Amazon and read reviews and you'll soon get a feel of what is thd best one for your needs/budget etc.
