Interesting how much opinions vary in football.

Thought Devlin had a very solid game.. won most of his headers, and used ball well bar one pass maybe that i remember.. him and mckenna will be shit hot for us this season

Lewis Ferguson for being 18 plays well above his years, boys not scared to give him the ball either which is encouraging

I thought Scott Wright was very good, better than GMS?... looked very lively, taking on boys and played one great pass over to stockley who missed fhe 1v1 but was given offside (looked on).. think he will kick on this season

Dean Campbell... for being 17 he was ace, you can tell he is going places. Once he came on we controlled the game a bit more and boy can he pass. All older lads trust him too which to me shows his ability at such a young age, if he could beef out a bit i reckon him and ferguson could easy be our starting midfielders come time. Both tall lads.

Overall a good run out and it doesnt look all shite! Very happy to go with youth if we are only bringing in a couple more experienced boys to help the starting XI. Striker being no1 priority IMO

Completely disagree haha.. Wright was good, didnt always have the end product but showed more eagerness to impress than GMS who bar the cross for cosgrove, was pretty poor. Like i say opinions differ but i reckon McInnes would have been impressed... also worth noting 30million man Oli Burke was onimous when he came on

Ps - forgot to add above, thought dom ball played v well in cm too - there may be hope shinnie can play the season at lb!!

Remember folks it's important not to go too overboard on the result of a friendly, some positives to take but that's it.

Updates from a mate who was there, as I said I won't be at any games but I've said in previous seasons that it's important not to go overboard on a result of a friendly, whether it's a positive result or a bad one.

Wright didn't have a great game but a lot of the criticism here is way OTT. He's a winger who runs at opponents and tries to create in the final third. He's going to lose the ball a lot. Played a great cross over to Cosgrove who was just offside and put it wide anyway.

I think the problem with Wright us he hasn't learned that he doesn't need to take on the entire team himself yet. There is a tremendous talent there though and it's worth persevering with him.

Threaded a beautifully weighted pass to Shinnie down the left deep at the edge of their box.

Thought Shinnie handled him really well.

Can only remember Burke beating him for speed the once (toward our 6 yard box, along our goal line).

All my opinions are based on games I've attended or watched on tv :)

I'm in a WhatsApp group with mates that still go to games, one of which was there last night 6 of the 7 in the group have season tickets, 2 regretting buying but they will give it a chance.
