Yes we are long overdue a SC but as with the LC this season if we're going to do it it's going to have to be the hard way. The draws have not been kind to us in either cup this season.

Anything can happen in a cup final if you get there. You can get lucky on the day even if it is Celtic you come up against. They will not be as potent under Lennon which gives me more optimism than usual for Hampden next month.

Not to argue about who is the shittest and most boring. But we're losing and drawing against Dundee, St Mirren, Hamilton. We got beat 5-0 at Livi. We took a penalty over 2 games v Thistle to go through, a team below Alloa at the time.

 

No way will be win this cup. We've more chance of winning the Grand National. Again, I'm not seeing us getting past Caley and part of me thinks happy we go out to them if it gets Levein and hopefully Budge out the door.

Would like Sevco to end way behind Celtic (and preferably third behind us, although seems unlikely right now) so there's no argument that they've regressed under Gerrard to see what happens next. I now expect Rangers to move for him. I'm not sure the power of a pre contract, but we've not even got that. And Sevco are shaky at the back. You can see them moving for a Rangers fan centre half out of contract....low risk.

 

We are priced out of the English market for the most part. But the usual hunting ground of Dundee, Inverness, Falkirk, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, etc - we're seeing both uglies hoovering up everything in sight. Jack Hendry. Lewis Morgan. Cannae even be arsed listing them all.

Halkett would go to sevco as 3rd choice at best. Katic is a Croatian international and well ahead of Halkett. He might accept that situation being a sevconian along with a whopping great pay rise but if he wants to further his career then Tynecastle ( or wherever other than Ibrokes) is where he should head.

I don't think pre contracts are legally binding in the UK.

 

Souttar on a long term deal, like McKenna with us, means very little. Hearts know they'll likely get a larger fee with the longer contract but like McKenna he could still be away in the summer.

 

Celtic and Sevco will for the most part just continue to pick the best available young Scottish talent. And either sit them on their bench or more likely put them out on loan (Docherty and Morgan two good examples).
