To be honest, I congratulate him for stubbing the cigar out in the loon's face, teenagers are cheeky little bastards.

bottom line is,

Joey Barton is a great footballer.

Unfortunately he's also a thick prick.

Criminal record and a list of misdemeanors as long as your arm constitutes more than a 'cheeky chappie'

He earns a fortune but still chooses to be a prick.

i think he's a top player and a good guy off it. met him on a night out in newcastle and he was a gentlemen, had a good laugh and a pint with him. i think the way he carried on when he was young was very wrong but he's obviously learning and although outspoken few can argue with the points he makes. he is completely right aswell regarding "kelvin henry", the guy is a joke and horrible hatchetman, someone who would fit in well at ibrox. he stood up for the fans at newcastle and they loved and appreciated him for it. certainly think he should be at a better club than qpr but luck to him.

Could be argued that QPR are going places.

But he is at QPR cos no so called big team wanted him, whether that is because of his naughtiness or footballing talent, thats open to debate.

I cant pass comment on his overall ability, Ive never watched him that much or even thought, wow, england international, or excellent player.

He's a cheap version of Roy Keane in the way he "thinks" he has an edge to his game, I could name a good few players that would take care of Joey on the pitch and Im sure a few will stick them in their back pockets this year.

oh roy keane. now there was a player.

players like him and viera, all round combative midfielders have died a death recently.

shame, all teams should have one.

Cannot condone some of the things he has gotten upto throughout his career and life in general but I think everyone deserves a second chance.

It looks like the worst of his antics are just about behind him but then again, I wouldn't be that surprised if he got himself into trouble once more.

Agree with the sentiments that he thinks he's more intelligent than he is. Follow him on twitter because I like his honesty about some matters and some individuals but he seems to try too hard at times to appear articulate and cultured.

Footballing wise, he's undoubtedly a talented individual but he needs to use his time well at QPR as it's last chance saloon. If he knuckles down, then he might well be recognised by a bigger side and, consquently, might be given another shot at the England set up. Doubt it'll happen under Capello but possibly an English manager.

He's a gobshite that can give it out, but greets when he gets a few kicks.

he's found his level as a man and a player.

QPR.

enough said

For 80k a week, I'd be more than happy to play for them.

I love him, think he's a quality player and look up to him as a bit of a role model now.
