McInnes needs a good Jan transfer window after the last one.

 

Forrester, Gleeson and Wilson have been brutal (can add May, McGinn and Cosgrove if you go slightly further back).

Paying a fee for Forrester and a good wage to him and Gleeson gives me little confidence he'll pick up a quality midfielder and a goal scorer.

 

Half of our top earners either don't even make the bench or are one of the weaker squad members.

 

Essentially his only good signings in 2018 have been Hamilton players. Therefore it is time to finally sign Dougie Imray

I think he does believe in a lot of the stuff he comes away with... the Ryan Fraser comments always stuck with me, as I was similarily struck with his first performances.  I didn't know how good he'd become, but it was just his composure and attitude.  As a tiny wee boy, stepping out to play in the first team, for this first time, with grown men, many almost twice the height and weight - he took it all in his stride.  Didn't look flustered/nervous at any point - and pretty much owned it, from the first 5 mins!

DM is under no pressure at all. His 4 2nd places on the trot have ensured the board will allow him one dodgy season where even finishing 8th would have him safely ensconced in the manager's office next season...and I doubt we will finish any worse that 6th, more likely somewhere between 5th and 3rd.

 

He will come under pressure next season once he has his hands on the training ground if he starts the season as underwhelmingly as we did this one, but even then I don't think Wiggy would bullet him just no offer of a new contract.

There are still areas where McInnes could be doing better than he is we all know that but the one area he is doing far better in recently is results against the old firm.

 

First 6 games against them last season saw us suffer 6 defeats scoring 1 goal and conceding 15.

 

The last 7 games against them (5 of which have been in Glasgow) we have won 3 (all in Glasgow), lost 2 (two 1-0 defeats to the tims in Glasgow) and drawn 2. We have scored 5 goals and conceded 4. Massive improvement even if the style in which we achieved the results made the eyes bleed at times. I suppose when you beat either of the ugly sisters you don't really care how you do it.

Today is exactly one year on from when McInnes told the hun where to poke their job and Jabba had his infamous meltdown and broke several of his statement-writing crayons in his furious rage to scribble down his concomitant anger.

 

I still waver on McInnes from time to time but at the moment I'd rather he was here than wasn't here. Keep up the good work (and do the transfer window right).
