Songs where you have misunderstood the words

For years I thought the song the SUMMER OF '69  had a different opening line.

Instead of singing the first line which was:-

I got my first real six string.

I thought it sounded like he was saying

I got my first real sex dream   :hysterical:

To be honest I didn;t know what a six string was at the time, but are there any songs that you have got the words wrong or that they sounded different to what the artist was singing?

Summer of '69
Bryan Adams

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it 'til my fingers bled
Was the summer of sixty-nine
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
I should've known we'd never get far
Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Ain't no use in complainin'
When you've got a job to do
Spent my evenings down at the drive-in
And that's when I met you, yeah
Standin' on your mama's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh, and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah
Back in the summer of sixty-nine, oh

Also sings the line “me and my baby in a 69” near the end of the song. He’s meaning in a 69 year car,or is he?!

Not quite a song, but the in the Indiana Jones film "Temple of Doom" the ~7-8 yr old me thought the followers of Mola Ram would chant "Bora! Bora! Bora to the Hibees!"

And so for decades, any time we play HIVs, I have had "Bora! Bora! Bora to the Hibees!" in my head. (Same, if HIVs are beating the Huns).

One of those erroneous things which takes legs and becomes a thing in its own right
