  1. You don’t like him. I get it. I appreciate he has his faults but to blame him for their first goal is incredibly harsh. MacDonald controlled the ball with his wrong foot then tried to roll his foot over the ball, it got stuck under him and he made a cunt of it. The second one he has no protection at all. If he goes to close the wide man , he leaves an even bigger space behind him. Morris should have been the one to go wide or at least track the runner he does neither. As I said, I have not been the greatest fan of his but today he did far more good things than bad and to pinpoint him for the loss of goals is really unfair.
  2. There was a big hole in that area but to point the finger at Mackenzie is a bit harsh imo. Overall, I thought he had a very good game. There are certain things that he does in a game that drives me mental but I think he is one of these players who are late developers. IMO he is a vastly improved player from last season and hopefully he will continue that trajectory. I wish he would develop a bit of a nasty streak as he does seem to play within himself at times. Was never a big fan of him previously but he is starting to grow on me.
  3. Given this a bump as I can imagine the clubs PR department will be going into overdrive after Thelin’s announcement. Will it be enough to encourage most fans to renew? I still know quite a few who are just completely scunnered with the dons, var , Scottish football in general are not renewing and will pick and choose their games.
  4. This is exactly my thoughts as well. It was a bit of an odd article. They appear to have produced a list of players without knowing who the manager would be. Like you said, I hope this list has been based on players that fit Thelins style or he may very well say he doesn’t want any of them. Hopefully it’s the former.
  5. Part of me thinks this is all very admirable that everyone is leaving / arriving on good terms but another part thinks this is a bit weird. Maybe it’s just Scandinavian culture but it can’t be usual to have both the departing and new manager at the same press conference. Anyway, welcome to the club Jimmy
  6. Scott Burns reporting that Thelin still expected to start in June.
  7. Yep. Agree that’s it is likely to be all agreed in principal. It does sound like he wants to do the honourable thing and wait until his current club have found a replacement. Also need to factor in that he and his coaches will also require work permits that can take a bit of time. I’ve criticised the club a lot over last few months but willing to give them benefit of doubt on this. I am sure once they can, they will announce it.
  8. Agreed. The glass half empty in me keeps thinking this could still go all tits up.. Hopefully we are beyond that stage and it’s just a case of his current club sorting out a replacement before officially taking over ( ideally before 1st June ). I suppose it’s a difficult one to make an official announcement when he is still manager of another club.
  9. Can’t help but think the longer they take to get someone in, the further they alienate the fans. Nearly every single fan I know hasnt renewed their season ticket. Many of whom have decided not to and will just go to a few games next season. I’m just totally fucking scunnered with it all.
  10. It was an embarrassing listen this afternoon. He manufactured an argument with the boy Rory Loy out of nothing.. and kept going on about it, trying to humiliate Loy.. you could almost hear the cringe from the others in the studio. Used to think he was quite good but now trying to be controversial and edgy but actually coming across as a total bellend
  11. Totally disagree with this min. The very best players will be practicing their technique every day throughout their careers. Of course, they should have the basics, but the players who spend the most hours developing and improving, are likely to become better players. At our level we need to find the balance between all the data / software analysis and the behavioural piece. This is were coaching and developing players on the pitch becomes so important. We need to be able to identify players with certain data attributes and ensure we have the coaches to make them better.
  12. Agree. I think MSM was resigning himself to the fact that if an appointment is announced today, it would lead to the demise of this thread. ( for a few months at least anyway )
  13. If he had just left it at “is not under consideration” he would have been correct as at the point he tweeted he wasn’t. But to go and say that he wasn’t offered or turned it down is a bit odd. Unless he does know something else, but I find that now rather hard to believe. I suspect if we haven’t heard anything by Monday/Tuesday then we really are back to square one.
  14. According to the Harildur, it was. With minijc and slippers recent posts it very much sounds like it was very very close to being agreed and fallen through at last minute. Scott Burns saying he was never offered it or turned us down doesn’t do himself any favours
  15. Agreed. I doubt a journalist would put out tweets like that without being in the know. They are fairly emphatic. I’m leaning towards now a left field European coach to take over.
