There are folk on one of the Sevco forums convinced that Mcleish is ill from heading footballs during his playing career, and for that reason don't want him as manager .

I have it on good authority that King is thinking of getting out and cutting his losses.

Could Mike Ashley come back in a buy a majority share from Dave King. Looks like he's going to sell Newcastle for around 300 million in the next few weeks. Could it explain the delay in approaching a new manager. Before anyone jumps on me here I am purely speculating.

Ex-football scout facing child abuse allegations dies aged 84

A former Rangers football scout who was facing historical child abuse charges has died.

Harry Dunn, 84, had also previously scouted for Chelsea and Liverpool, but was named in March after a UK-wide scandal over the abuse of children by football coaches.

He had earlier this year appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in connection with alleged sexual offences in the 1980s.

He was then committed for further examination and released on bail.

A Crown Office spokesman said, following his death, proceedings are now at an end.

A spokesman said: “Harry Dunn, 84, appeared in private, on petition at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on April 26 in connection with alleged sexual offences in the early 1980s.

He was committed for further examination and released on bail.

“As a result of his death proceedings against him are now at an end.”

Firstly I don't think Ashley will be buying anything from King other than maybe tossing him some change in the street.

Always said Sevco were a good fit for Ashley simply because of the clear merchandising volume they have, the backlog ironically thanks to the boycott and the, cough, 'customer profile' that Sports Direct deals in.

But interestingly he's been made out to be public enemy number one and whilst he had the financial muscle to simply crush King for whatever reason he didn't.  Point being if he visibly came in and took over, regardless of whether he 'saves them,' it would be immediately ignored and they'd be at boycott city again which would negate his strategy somewhat.

He might still come in 'facelessly' of course.

Ashley clearly has the balls to take on the SFA (who if he hasn't realised by now are bent as fuck then hell mend him) but he is also astute enough to realise that losing his core audience on day one wouldn't normally be the way to go (ignoring the fact that a massive cost cutting operation at his instigation a la the Gazebo AGM was exactly what they needed).

It would be intriguing for sure.  His Newcastle model was never exactly to be loved.  Nor was it to be particularly successful.  And yet they still sold out, all wearing their tops, in some sort of bizarre GIRUY protest.  Which is why he can now sell them off for a packet.

Or, he could come in and buy us just to piss off the rabid hoard. Find the rest of the new stadium, and call it The Sports Direct Arena?

Hahahaha.

On another note, daily ranger is fuming that McInnes has been linked in other rags, with the vacancy at West Brom. Be interesting to see what the bbc have to say. Bound to be something soon.

Craig Whyte is to allege in his forthcoming memoirs a top flight Scots club offered to throw a match for cash.

The book promises to lift the lid on “one player whose performances dipped after he picked up a sexually transmitted disease after playing away from home in more ways than one”.

And another “star” on almost £20,000 a week allegedly saw sheriff officers turn up at Ibrox to seize his cars.

This from a guy who was revealed not to know the difference between truth and lies.

I don't think Mugabe is right-wing enough to work at Ibrox...
