Aberdeen 2 - 0 Hearts

Recommended Posts

Some. Every club has its delusional fringe. Something is rotten in Hearts just now, can feel it. Injuries is a smoke screen. Although pretty bad. Just dinnae see the effort, few coasting. Either big time charlies think they've arrived or something stinks in the dressing room. Think our Director of Football should start giving the manager a bit of a hard time.

Our first XI still gives me a bit hope and think with right tactics (sigh) would give most teams a hard time, but still work to do:

Bobby (starting to play like a keeper that's been a no.2 his whole career, oh...)

Souttar (the boy is becoming a man under Berra and Levein, getting nasty, like McKenna, good)

Berra (solid, wins more headers / tackles than rest of league's CHs)

Dunne (gets us, great lad, great effort and positioning, can tell he's EPL)

Haring (accidental best signing, CH becomes great MF ball winner and goal threat)

Lee (wow, just fell away, player in there but needs a rollicking, you ain't at Luton now, typically we sign and immediately change his position from last team)

Djoum (world class in his own head, punt end of season)

Smith (his best games starting to be sweeper or RCH, good lad and capable)

Mitchell (shadow of the player last season, our LB curse just goes on and on)

Naisy (10/10 - captain on the park and nailing THEM every opportunity endears)

Uche (headless but an absolute tank, unplayable on his game, but that's 1 in 4)

Think under Budge (punt) we've signed c. 100 players now, and still don't have an XI. She goes on about our youth conveyor belt. When everybody is fit there wouldn't even be a youth product on our bench never mind the first team. Cochrane, McDonald, Morrison doing their bits. But reality is in my lifetime our conveyor belts last decent forward was John Robertson. Since then it's been Glen, Carrick, Currie, Weir, Roy, Elliiot and a host of others who were being groomed for Alloa and Raith's first teams.

Anyway, you don't care, nobody cares. Just me. Happy Christmas to Scotland's 4th or 5th biggest.

I'm sticking with 0-0.

Considine talking about us sneaking into the title race is a bit premature I think.

Get a win over Hearts then we can say we are in it again - and go into the Celtic game feeling like we can challenge them.

Even then I think if we are really seriously thinking of ourselves in that context we need to be working really hard to make some improvements in January - not just pulling in 1 guy on loan and hoping for the best. We need to be moving a couple out either loan/sold/paid off and bringing in 2 or 3 good additions to genuinuely improve the depth. And extending Lowe's deal is a must really.

We are still dog shit really but if we can remain undefeated in these next three games and seriously sort ourselves out in January (i.e. like 4 OUT 4 IN) then maybe we could hang in there for a period.

Absolutely fucking no chance the current squad is good enough to win the league.

Cochrane is out too. Sounds like Naismith is back though. Going to be a real makeshift team for Saturday. I think we'll go with a 4-5-1 - Naismith up top.

I can honestly see us controlling this game. Our players will be desperate to make up for last Friday. Aberdeen are no better than Hibs, Motherwell or the likes. How they are in the top six is beyond me.

We'll beat them 2-0. Watch them plummet down the table after Saturday. Honestly believe they'll be bottom 6 this year - back where they belong.

I particularly like the "How they are in the top 6 is beyond me" comment.  It's almost as if the complexities of a league and the points system is beyond his grasp.

So the general consensus is we're starting to find form and Hearts are back to being shite.

Away win.

Aye , I'm fearing a bit of deja vu from a home game v Hearts in Deek's first season.

We were in good form , with a real feelgood factor about us. Hearts were already as good as relegated after a 15 point deduction before the season had even started, and were fielding a very young team and usually losing

We started off well and McGinn scored early on. But he then missed a pen soon after. Then Robson got sent off early in the seecond half , and though we still had most of the possession , they scored three and won 3-1.

Too many similarities with that at the moment for my liking

Mind we were in for McGinn til we got trumped by Aberdeen offering him a 16 year deal. Ha ha. A poor man's Dennis Wyness. Deputy Dog looking no mark.

Yeah .. I would much rather have such incredible signings as Olly Lee  :hysterical:

A huge signing for you from Luton Town.

Are we really getting trolled by someone whose team have won 1 in 9 and lost FIVE NIL to Livingston last week ... 5 nil WHS ...  :swear:

"The fact that Aberdeen are such perennial losers makes our current plight even worse. It's temporary though and our historic superiority will be reclaimed shortly".

The above is what a Hearts fan posted on another forum today. It sums up the utter delusion of Hearts fans in general. They win 3 major trophies in the last 56 years yet one of their fans fails to see the irony in calling another Scottish club perennial losers. A Scottish club that happens to lead them 19-11 in major trophies won since they have competed against each other. And has finished above them in the league for the last 6 seasons. Yet somehow they believe they have historic superiority over a club that has reached heights in the game their fans can only dream of.

Laughable. The most deluded fans in Scotland bar none and by some distance.

Yeah, I mind when they won the SC in 98, up until then the Hibs fans used to sing the old 'the cupboards are bare, there's no silverware, it's (insert new number each year) years in a row

36 years without a trophy up to that point until they finally won something again. Then Romanov bought another couple after that lol & those THREE trophies are basically all that pretty much any of them that aren't pretty much pension age remember

FIVE of their major honours came before we were even formed & FOUR of them were not only not even in the last century but the one BEFORE that lol

I'd agree..

but I'd add that if Celtic continue to be inconsistent and Hibs, Hearts, us, Rangers, Kilmarnock keep giving them a hard time then the gap can be closer without us actually being anywhere near as good as we were say 2 or 3 years ago when we were pushing them but no one else was there week to week.

I think our squad is poor but so all those other teams I've mentioned are also filled with weaknesses to be exploited.

Its almost an interesting league at the moment.

That's actually a pretty stark assessment when you also consider the Romanov ones were essentially bought with massive unpaid debts. Take that away and essentially they've won next to fuck all in living memory.

When I was at school there was 1 Jambo in our whole school. He was (no exaggeration) an effeminate, limp wristed, curly haired, hunch backed, chubby, ugly, waddling, whining, poofy mess. And that is how I pretty much visualise all Jambo's now.
