Tord31
I may be wrong, was skimming through it on my phone but I think that the transfer income figure is sales minus bought. If it is we have the £1.2m from selling Hayes minus the £400k for May and the £150k for GMS in there. I doubt we'll see Hayes back unless he is released or loaned back to us. He's on too much money and Celtic aren't going to hand us a biscuit tin full of cash and give us the player back a year later.I think May and GMS will be in this seasons results. Link to comment

Byrne Baby Byrne
I would rather GMS at left mid than a 31(ANCIENT) year old Hayes next season. The only way is down for him. We got his best years and a good transfer fee. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Might be right about where he is heading but when on form I think he was a much better player than GMS. GMS has never really had much consistency in his game. Link to comment

I can't ever remember seeing your name. I'm private as well, so I'd have to accept. My name isn't my name that's on FB either .I'm going to start tagging you in all manner of shit on twitter. But if we had to have one of them for 2018 going forward, I would pick GMS... purely cause he's younger and not too bad a player himself! Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Technically, GMS is streets ahead of Hayes. Not sure I agree. I would say Hayes end product after getting to the byline was better. Scored some absolute peaches ana.... GMS is basically better for a step over every 10th game Link to comment

Scotty_Toronto
Rooney noticeably missed Hayes last season. Whatever we do, our strikers will need improved service. Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
If you think Graham Dorrans and Mulumbu were playing for the same role in the norwich midfield, then it's you that I'd worry about!I have idea or interest in where each of them played at Norwich. I am simply going by his press reports & how Dorrans was one of a couple of central mids that kept him out of the Norwich first. I guess you follow guff football more though. But you are moving from my main point which is that some think it's ok to sign Mulumbu but not Hayes because Hayes is over the hill & has no sell on value. Yet Hayes is younger & ub to his leg break & signing for Celtic in general he was pretty much always fit where as Mubumbu has always been a bit parter for various reasons Link to comment

northernlights
I'd sign Hayes and play him at left-back. He is actually a very good defender and could evolve into a really good play-making full back. COYR Link to comment
thomsod
Yeah I'd sign him and use him at left back as well. Sort of like how Valencia has adapted for Man U. Link to comment

This is more in response to people saying he's done. If he can still perform further forward then aye play him there. However if he has lost a bit of pace, he could do a job at left back is what I was saying. Link to comment

Shinnie has made that midfield position his own now..... Plus he ain't the best left back in the league now with tierney playing so well the past 2 1/2 years (who is made to play out of position for Scotland). Personally i believe his best position is in that midfield role. Happens all the time in football. Gareth Bale was a left back, Ramos RB to CB, Gareth Barry rb to CM, Callum patterson RB to attacking midfielder..... Hayes proved he could play left back when he covered for considine durign 2015/2016 2016/17, not the worst shout ever, especially if mcinnes went 3 at the back with two defending/attacking wingers Link to comment

The reason Tierney is "made" to play out of position with Scotland is because Andy Robertson is Scotland's best player by a country mile. Although I think there's an argument to play Robertson further forward in the Scotland team and play Tierney behind him. I'd have no issue with Hayes playing left back behind Mackay-Steven if he did come back. The core issue though is the failure to rebuild the central midfield which means we end up with a lot of square pegs in round holes. The weird thing is that the manager spent a whole career playing there and captained a team to the English Premier League playing there. You'd think it would be the easiest job for him to build a central midfield unit. Link to comment
