boboisared
Aberdeen "fans" love a whipping boy especially a local one Wright did absolutely fine last nightNothing to do with him being local. He was easily the worst of the attacking players last night, especially in the first half. I'd expected more from him against that standard of opposition. More than willing to give the lad a chance. Especially after watching a couple of Dundee games and reading what the Dundee fans on P&B thought of him. 1 Link to comment
DelMonte
Thought he was poor. Just don't see it with him at all. 1 Link to comment
DD1903
Jesus Christ lads he’s 21 for fuck sake Gallagher is 23 never played first team football before, McKenna was 21 when he broke into our team? Pawlett was loaned out around the same age and came back ace He’s obviously got talent, I genuinely thought he was okay last night.. by no means shite but didn’t excel like others have mentioned - to cut our losses is stupid Frank Ross is 22 and played like 5 first team games.. scotty is a confidence player I reckon and get him thinking he’s good he will be good I think. Down to mcinnes and docs man management of himLolz pawlett had a good 6 months with us. That was it. Link to comment
Sandafc
generally baffled that people thought he had a poor game last night!? Only player that had a poor game last night was Cosgrove I thought. I never said he was poor. I just didn't think he was very good as a lot of folk seem to be suggesting. Quite a lot of fans want him to get a regular chance. He has had numerous chances and hasn't looked like taking any off them. Last night was another of those. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Wasn’t there last night so not fair to pursue but I still don’t get what position Derek is trying him in. At Elgin he was almost like a number 10 thing going on. At least at Elgin he one or two shots at goal (as required of a number 10). But last night (from reports) he doesn’t seem to have carried a goal threat at all against limited opposition. The team is about passengers, players trying to find form. At the moment Cosgrove is 1. McGinn was another although agree he looks a different prospect to this time last year. Enough said about May. Everybody knows Considine limitations at Left back. For 89 minutes Logan looked like the Logan of 2015. Point is we can afford 1 maybe 2 passengers at most. We seem to start at 2 as a given and work upwards from there. 1 2 Link to comment
Ten Caat
Yep agree that he has had plenty chances to prove himself but has failed to produce any sort of consistent form for us that warrants a regular place in the side. He wasn't bad last night but he wasn't good either. Tbh I think he found his level at Dundee. Not good enough to play top end SPFL level. If we took a chance on getting Gallagher in permanently right now, I'd be comfortable enough with letting Wright leave permanently before the window shuts. There's bound to be a 17/18 y/o kicking around at a lower league team with a bit of promise who we could take a punt on that could do at least as good a job as Wright does and would be a bit cheaper into the bargain. 1 1 Link to comment

I was extremely frustrated with him first half.Second half he came out much better till he was subbed. He needs to show that much more else he won't get the run of games that some think he needs. I think I'd keep him this season given he has pace to burn and "can" be a game changer, but this is his season he needs to be more consistent else he'll end up at the likes of Dundee Utd Link to comment

Nebitdag
I think Wright is a wee bit of flat-track bully. He looked fine last night against limited opposition - and other performances of note were against the likes of Partick Thistle, Stenny replay and Stubbs' shambolic St Mirren side. I recall him getting a chance against Sevco in the home game we lost when Frank Ross scored and in the LC semi and both times he wasn't up to it. Nevertheless, given a lot of our fixtures are against limited sides with busy defences, maybe it is worth keeping Wright this season and using him in a horses for courses type way. Is there any point in playing Dean Campbell at home to Accies for example? But he's a player who's shown he can be trusted at Ibrox and Parkheid. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Thought he was fine yesterday. Solid enough 6/10, not bad enough to warrant some of these posts. McGinn, Gallagher and Hedges all had far superior games though. Link to comment
TheRock
I thought he did pretty well last night, was surprised to see some of the comments berating his performance. It was against sub-SPL level opposition though so a good performance last night doesn't necessarily mean too much. Arguably Dundee's best player second half of last season but with them being absolutely atrocious, not sure how much that really means either. With everyone fit and available, does he even make the bench? That hat trick at Patrick, he must have thought that was the turning point for him but right now it's just looking like an last game of the season anomaly. Link to comment
slippers
Wright had 1 or 2 very nice pieces of play. One in particular in second half when he created space and gave it to either Gallagher or Cosgrove then made the run into box for the greedy bastard not to give it to him. Gallagher did simular agin later in game when he could of slipped Wilson in. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Did people saying he was good last night have him Gallagher mixed up or something? It wasn't a terrible performance but nothing special either I'm afraid. Keep waiting to see what he can really do but he has to really want to go out there and make it happen. Link to comment
Andy_123
He was ok last night, no more no less. Thought there were a few times where he tried a bit too much instead of playing a simple pass. I'll be surprised if he isn't out on loan again this season. Link to comment
Tord31
Before pre-season I was having him on the bad list with Gleeson and May. Was kind of thinking we should promote Ethan Ross ahead of him and write off Wright. After last night I'd half have a wonder to give him one last chance but then I remember no he's shite get shot of him to Ross County/Dundee/whoever. Could actually be a bargaining chip in the Stevie May race. Get whoever wants May to take Wright too 3 Link to comment
RUL
I reckon Ethan will be ahead of him before long. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Excellent ball for the goal last night. We were a better side last week with him in it than we were this week without him. 1 Link to comment
old sheep
Think today was confirmation that the lad is not going to cut it against the top 6 sides. Can see McInnes offloading him in the window if an offer comes in. The likes of McLennan and Gallagher are ahead of him in the pecking order. Link to comment
DelMonte
Hearts is the last team I'd start him against. Just doesn't have it. He won't last with us. Link to comment
shut up meg
I'm not sure, I think if he was given the proper protection from the ref, he would have ripped them a new one.Unfortunately they were allowed to give him a few reducers without punishment, I'm surprised he managed to get up after one particular bad foul in the first half. 1 1 Link to comment
BWG
Really wanted the boy to step up and take his chance. This is what though? The third season we've been waiting for him to arrive as a first team player? It's just not happening. 2 Link to comment

If he can't handle the physicality then he's not up to it. Not having a go at you but it seems its just excuse after excuse for Wright. He has had so many opportunities and I just don't see any progression. 1 Link to comment

Every team in the league knows that you can shut down Wright with a early reducer. There is a good footballer in there - no doubt - but he needs to harden up. Link to comment
