  1. Think the head of recruitment here is a big role in terms of the recruitment worldwide we are looking at and obviously the abrupt parting of the ways at Blackpool wasn't a happy way to finish there either so probably just happy to get back in the game and doing what he had enjoyed previously.
  2. Tarique Fosu would fit he bill for a good wide player but depends if he has been keeping in shape and training with a club as to how long it might take to get him to good fitness. Issa Kallon another possibility.
  3. Both teams have a player that cost a similar amount, and who are proven in each others respective leagues but struggled after they moved. And both currently completely frozen out at the team who signed them and both clubs looking to offload the player back to the country they moved from.
  4. could maybe do a swop deal with Groningen for Van Veen and then send Pape out on loan until summer to somewhere that he will play every week. Van Veen would be good cover and a different option from the bench. Its a bit random but would put Gueye out to Livi, he is similar profile to the type of player Martindale seems to have managed to get something out of.
  5. No! far from it. Not sure what your point is though. Celtic pay more than us but we still loaned Scales from them and would have probably signed him permanent but for injuries at the tims. Liverpool pay more than us but we still signed Clarkson from them. Benfica pay more than us but we still signed Duk. Wigan pay more than us but we still signed Shinnie. Someone at the club knows him well and knows his ability. He is out of favour at Kazan so therefore is someone worth looking into. Visas and work permits would be a complication though.
  6. If a deal does happen for Duk in the next few weeks, i wonder if a loan until summer with option to buy for Joel Fameyeh as a replacement might materialize.
  7. Joe Lewis hadn't played much in years before he came up here and he had a few really good seasons before it went wrong. As much as I might dislike it I have to admit Butland has played well for that bunch this season and he hadn't played in years before that. So just goes to show goalkeeper is one position where you can maybe get away with that as long as the player has the right mindset to go with the ability.
  8. Think he maybe lost attention on his fitba a little at Celtic with his mind more on his celebrity Aussie girlfriend and living a glamourous lifestyle with her. Don't think she will be keen on jetting in and out to Aberdeen and suspect he might be heading to the A league at the end of the season.
  9. Burrows said that we will definitely be looking to do business in January window. He said that at a club like Aberdeen that you should always be looking to do business in every window and if you are not that you are being negligent in the running of your football club as you should always be looking to strengthen in every window. So you can be certain that we are working on things and we are trying. Could be the last week before things start to hot up and deals start to happen.
  10. Tonio Teklic heading out on loan from Trabzonspor for second half of season ....... away to join Fatih Karagรผmrรผk
  11. The MLS publishes the salary list for every club. The latest MLS figures revealed he earned $2.265 million, which converts to ยฃ2.01 million in the MLS's annualised average guaranteed compensation. That figure includes a player's base salary and all signing and guaranteed bonuses annualised over the term of the player's contract and any marketing bonus and agent's fees, but doesnโ€™t include performance bonuses since thereโ€™s no guarantee players will hit those bonuses. So he will get over 40K a week and earn performance bonus payments on top of that.
  12. Armstrong still has a year and a half left on contract
  13. Totally agree that he has improved to another level this season. His movement, intelligent runs and finishing were very good last season but the past month his touch on the ball, link up play, hold up play and even work rate have been a totally different level to where it was in the past. Well done Bojan and keep it going.
