Said on here months ago, we’ll be lucky to get £1m for him. I’ll be amazed in fact if we get that for him. The £6m valuation was horseshit agent talk in the paper. If villa wanted him, they probably offered something in the region of £1m - £2m and thats why it was turned down cos DM and therefore milne believed his value would increase and such was his form, he was more valuable in the team than £1m in the bank.
Ive also said on here repeatedly, why the fuck would an english champ/epl side pay a non old firm team that kind of money when they know they’ll get that player for buttons. £6.5m what a fucking nonsense.

Ok don't cry about it

Is Hoban still training with us? Might be worth taking him on till the end of the season, he was decent before he got injured.

Pretty mental that most folk are considering Devlin to be the weak link out of him and Taylor also. How times change.

Not sure he's even started yet.....all went very quiet on that front. Even if he is....doubtful he would be ready to play even a reserve match until the start of April. He'd likely really only be truly "match fit" by the time we are into our last 2 or 3 games of our league programme and for the SC final should we make it.

The problem with Hoban long term is that he's used to Watford wages. Obviously he wouldn't be one of their top paid players on northwards of £50k/week but the kind of wages we pay even our top players at around £6-7k/week are likely to be a significant drop to what he is used to. And I'm not sure we would even pay that given his injury history...there aren't too many players around who have snapped both cruciates and returned to playing at all, never mind at a (relatively) high level. If we could punt Devlin somewhere in the summer.....and not covering any of his wages.....then I think Hoban might be worth risking a couple of years on using the wages saved on Devlin. But at that level there are plenty of EFL1 clubs who could easily match or beat that...even a few EFL2 ones. He might be able to fix himself up with one of those clubs that means he doesn't have to move at all, never mind uprooting his family 500 miles north.

We need Ash to do the semi circle death stare thing at the start.  Worked a treat.  Kind of.

I know we all say pay as you play deals don't really exist, but he may have no choice but to accept one or at least a very low basic wage heavily incentivised, for his next deal wherever it may be.

Any club would be nuts to take him in on a full time wage given the risk. Pity cause he's a good player.

Heard that we are trying to get Hoban in and he could be ready to play in a couple of weeks. Leyton Orient have also offered him a deal. If that fails we may look at alternative free agents depending on Leigh progress when back in training next week. Alex Bruce mentioned as a short term back up option.

Totally agree. Attitude and effort is the leveller just now.

Cosgrove in particular looks completely disinterested

I've been called all the cunts in the world for saying exactly that. McKenna and Cosgrove will not go for anything like the money that's been mentioned. I'll be surprised if we even get a bid for them. They are that poor at the moment

Hoban looks like he will be back with us till the end of the season and Considine getting talked up for a Scotland cap.  amazing the opportunities that have arisen since Mckenna snapped his hamstring.

Gutting injury tbf. He's no Russell Anderson but we're stronger with him in the team. Would like to have seen him hopefully have a good couple of Scotland games this month so we can get the cunt sold

Don't get signing Hoban just to cover for an injury, guys legs are made of biscuits and he will no doubt be on the treatment table again soon enough.

Why not give one of the young guys the opportunity, it didn't hurt when McKenna first came in the team a few years ago,

Probably more frustrating than actually losing him for the rest of the season.
