Am I right in thinking the current plans are only two seasons (including this one) more at Pittodrie. If we are sticking to this plan surely we better get our skates on?

As long as its bigger than 22,000, I'll be happy.

I reckon it should be about 22,000 or just 20k. No point building a 25,000 or 30,000 stadium for it only to be filled once every two or three seasons.

:)

6 million for 2 pitches, a car park and a building attached to a small stand with 264 seats. WHAT!

He's a bad man, the real life equivalent of Dr Evil, he's really planning the new stand so he can build a giant laser inside it, and then use it to blow up the world

Ha Ha!! That's horrendous! It's like a smaller version of Caley's main stand and theirs wouldn't have cost anywhere near that, plus theirs must hold about 2,000

Yeah well Atherden Fuller Leng and Populous (formerly HOK) have come under the radar.

I've sent a few emails to find out - AFL have a good track record in the UK.

Its the Miller Partnership

http://www.millerpartnership.com/

These guys were responsible for some early howlers such as the souless St.Mary's and Leicester bowls - however their more recent efforts such as Hulls KC and the Ricoh are a marked improvement design wise.

http://en.wikipedia....wiki/KC_Stadium

I was sceptical about AFL and Populous - primarily becuase we are trying to do this in the most economical manner possible, and those two companies are amongst the elite - we are looking to spend around 40m all in.

I think we would all agree that we would be satisfied with an equivalent of the KC Stadium set up - rather timeous that we're headed there on 9th Aug, so we can check it out.

Look forward to seeing what they come up with

What was the name of the guy who is the head designer? Read previously that he has had a hand in the design of many decent new stadia in the UK.... thought that's who the Arena Project had given the responsibility to for our stadium.

Couldn't tell you the specific individual dude - but Miller Partnership are actually stadium designers as such, not just an architects who are having a punt - so thats a good start.
