Apsrt from SC blip this looks pretty good. We know we are capable of beating the top team and we have a helluva chance this season. Goings on in the next 5 or 6 weeks will be telling.

I do think we need to bolster our squad. We have a very very good starting 11 but we're very light for decent fringe players. Although we have Anderson, Flood and Low to come back, I still think we could do with a bit more quality on the bench.

If Celtic sign anyone it will be low value signings i'd have thought, they are also pretty arrogant so won't feel under any pressure as it stands.

 

Hopefully they will be distracted by the old firm semi final and europa league.

 

The fact is, to win the title we will need some very big matches, by that i mean beating celtic home and away. It's not impossible but think we are probably 3 or 4 players away from that level.

 

It's not even a case of signing players, our U20's are near the top of their league, if we could promote a couple of players over achieving at that level then you never know.

Aside from that, we don't seem too far off the team I'd like to see us with. We've some fucking excellent players in our team right now... we just need that creative catalyst.

Would definitely have settled for what we have at this stage at the start of the season, with the obvious exception of the cup-tie at Dens. Even that was pretty unlucky... you could replay that game a dozen times, and we'd win eleven of them playing the way we did. Anyway if it served as a wake-up call then it was maybe worth the hefty price we paid.

Given our shitty dropped points earlier I am obviously happy with where we are now but (after last season) I would not have been happy if I was asked if I would be happy at this stage in the season to be on same points as Utd & have Caley & Hamilton sniffing up our arse also, so the awnser to the question for me is basically NO I would not have been happy as things stand if offered this at start of season.

 

We should be extending away from the likes of Utd Caley & Hamilton (regardless of how close we are to celtic) & we haven't. We are however more consistent, so cannot grumble too much I suppose.

i think they will also spend but not with any focus or plan, just to be seen to be doing something. If the pressure is maintained it will be interesting to see if they have the balls to cope with it. Jury's out.
