Was in Inverness last night. Glen Mohr. 50 quid including breakfast for 2 people. Cracking room, view of the river and the best value for money I've ever had.

What a difference in comparison with all the crooked bastards in Aberdeen.

Jury Inn on a Tuesday, that will be £200 please sir,  Jury Inn on a Saturday, £60 sir.

Bluto, min... have you ever stayed at the Hans Brinker Hotel, which I believe is a popular hotel in your neck of the woods.

Have a shower in surgical spirit after staying there. I did once. It was awful. I forgot a decent pair of shoes so had to fork out for a replacement pair but won a heap at Poker in Sauchiehall Street before being escorted out - nae for winning, for my own safety winding up every weegie cunt at the table - which eased the pain.

Oh great :(

We're there for a very limited time. Somewhere to crash after a party. Will have to get even more smashed to block out the state of the place, cheers Rocket.

You're doing well to get it for £200 on a Tuesday!

The change in price is mental. Most crew change days are wednesday though so they are nae daft.

THREE industrial units are to be demolished to make way for a seven-storey hotel.

The 71-suite hotel will be situated at Union Glen, near Union Street.

Cllr Ross Thomson raised concerns about the loss of existing businesses – a garage, an embroidery firm and oil services firm – said to employ around 30 people and moved refusal.

But the committee voted 9-6 to back Cllr Ramsay Milne who said that while it was “regrettable that local businesses would be lost” the committee had to judge what was before it in planning terms.

He said he hoped the businesses could “relocate into suitable accommodation”

Seems a bit harsh on the existing businesses.

An awful lot of hotels getting built of late, I predict oversupply looming soon and closures to come.

With all these hotels why isnt Aberdeen more popular place for city getaways?
After all unlike most other cities the hotel prices drop at weekends don't they?

Suppose for Englanders the Central belt is easier to get too and the City centre is pretty rundown these days, I wouldn't want to spend more than a couple days if I was coming here on holidays, and I probably wouldn't repeat the trip, Edinburgh and Glasgow have much more to offer.

I agree what you're saying just wondering out loud if these hotels market themselves for weekends or are happy to just take weekday business revenue.

The people are not the friendliest either, if everyone was like you and me the City would be packed with visitors, unfortunately people rarely even open a door for you when commanded to do so these days, standards have slipped.

I remember a time when you could go for a night out in town and leave your cars keys in the ignition, you'd come back and the car would still be there, wouldn't happen these days.
