Expect a huge amount of call offs, the likes of the tic won't risk their players for a meaningless friendly, can't say I blame them.

It should be an end of season thing on a Saturday if they're going to play it all.

It will be heaving with drunk tartan army bams, the types who can't handle their beer, no thanks from me, :(

It's the oldest rivalry in football don't talk it down bluto. Scotland aren't what we were but I'll still be watching. Hopefully the Calcutta Cup remains at Hampden. Will be an awesome trip for those going. 30,000 odd Scotland fans taking the piss in london all day.

its a rivalry builyt on competitiveness (and history).

england have always bbeen a bigger footballing nation but untill recently ~1990s we could compete with them. and we could compete with other nation esp w.r.t. our small nation size.

we would be mabye 2nd / third tier nation.

nowadays were a backwater, no talent a dreadful club game and worse than most big african nations and bongo countries like turkey, korea who not so long ago we wipe the floor with.

there really isnt a rivaly with england anymore dynamo. at least nae one that goes two ways.

Couldn't give a toss how much England and their fans care about this match.

London is a great city, can't wait to piss it up for a few days and take in a famous fixture.

I'd still rather the Dandies beat Sellick a few days later however.

If both Scotland and Aberdeen win next week :spunk::spunk: :spunk:

I see England haven't sold all their tickets for this.

I don't think I've ever seen a game where one set of fans seems to be taking it so much seriously than the other.

If that translates on the pitch then it might be worth a fiver on Scotland.

Conveniently overlooking the fact that the Scotland end isn't sold out either....

Not really any difference between the behaviour of Scotland fans abroad as I seen in Madrid and Munich with the Dons (although there was trouble in Madrid and never seen any bother in 25 odd Scotland away games, not saying our fans were at fault, but just don't get bother at international away games with Scotland). Obviously when you get thousands of folk together, pissing it up in the one place, there will be a few idiots, but that applies across the board, not just with the tartan army. But it's usually just general drunken high jinks, so don't see why single out Scotland fans as bams. Never any real harm done and the local population always seem to enjoy our presence.

Don't get the negativity towards this game on here, not played them in 14 years and yes it is a friendly, but the oldest and biggest fixture in international football, so it's a big occasion no matter the circumstances and I can't wait to be there.

THE Tartan Army’s traditional Trafalgar Square knees-up before a match against England has been sunk.

About 30,000 Scotland fans face a booze ban in the capital when their side take on the Auld Enemy in a charity game on Wednesday night.
It’ll be the first time the two nations have clashed since 1999.
And the Metropolitan Police will enforce a hardline approach on fans who ignore a ban on drinking in public.
Hundreds of officers will be joined by a 12-man team from Police Scotland to help ensure the match is trouble-free.
The SFA last week sent out a list of 11 Scotland-only pubs near the stadium for fans to visit instead – but they’ll shut an hour before the 8pm kick-off.
A spokesman for Westminster City Council said: “It’s illegal to consume alcohol in public in London.
“Hopefully, there will be a practical and pragmatic approach to policing the event. But I can’t say fans won’t have alcohol confiscated because some of them will.”
Scotland fans are expected to start arriving in the city as early as tomorrow.
But thousands more will make the trip on Tuesday and on the day of the match.
Virgin Trains will have extra ticket inspectors and more carriages on services leaving Glasgow and Edinburgh.
British Transport Police will also be patrolling the trains – and they warned they will take a tough line on high jinks.
Chief Superintendent Ellie Bird, Area Commander for British Transport Police in Scotland, said: “Anyone who steps out of line risks court, missing the match and also future matches as we’ll pursue banning orders where appropriate.”
But Tartan Army veteran Gordon Johnstone, from Glasgow’s Pollok, said: “This will be the first time at Wembley for thousands of Scotland fans.
“Many will want to keep up the tradition of congregating in Trafalgar Square for a pre-match party. I think it’ll be impossible to impose a ban on alcohol.”

Wonder what that means?

It means that papers will make up any old shit if it makes people buy them.

There will be little if any trouble, midweek friendly, cctv everywhere, all a bit meh.....

And no way will the police stop people drinking in the square, the police down there are a different breed to what we're used to here, they'll be happy to stand back and let people do what they like.

Very much this.

At the Brasil game, the Police couldn't give 2 fucks what anybody was doing, just as long as they weren't bothering anybody else when they did it.
