That's what most people have a problem with. It doesn't necessarily mean the referees are cheating or are biased as things are now. But by ensuring they don't referee the team they support it takes away a lot of the doubt that currently exists. That's what they do in England. Doesn't mean English refs don't make shite decisions they do. But when they do the accusations thrown at them tend to be incompetence based rather than blatant bias. Can you imagine the uproar down south if a Man Utd vs Liverpool crunch game was being reffed by a known Man United supporter who was once a season ticket holder in the Stratford End? It just wouldn't happen. And quite rightly. But the Scottish footballing authorities seem strangely reluctant to follow the lead of their English counterparts. Link to comment
