AFChat awards 2021 - the results

At the end of another bumper year for the self-styled 'viper's nest', the #hatlads gather together to cast their votes in the annual awards, and look back with dewy eyes over the past twelve months. Without further ado, here are the results of the Hat Awards 2021:

Best Newcomer: it's everyone's favourite charity patron and friend of the Hutch, @Fridge, winning the award for the umpteenth time. Honourable mention to daytime TV expert @Matt Armstrong's Dog who finished second.

Most Negative: The man who sees everything coming - @WesthillWanderersFC - beats veteran of this category @fine-n-dandy by just one vote.

Moment of the Year: A few different events mentioned here, including the Walter Smith picture scandal, but most of the votes went to incidents involving Hat political prisoner @rocket_scientist  so it's only fair to hand him the award. Whether it was shiteing a fight against Roberto, bottling a bet against hanz or throwing pakora at his wife, it was another #boxoffice year for the inventor of Cornhill.

Must Do Better: @Bluto10 beats @Torry Tosser by one vote. The Hat wants to see much better content from old greysack in 2022.

Best Rivalry: A big year for arguing across various threads for the lads here. @NEM vs @ConsiCanBoogie1903 is the winner, again by one vote, edging out @manboobs109 vs @Parklife. No thread was safe from the incessant bickering. Good work all.

Best Thread: In a complete miscarriage of justice, the Coronavirus thread beats Choi's for Denner. Outrageous. 

Onto the Big Three...

Lifetime Achievement Award: A landslide victory for a man who's been there and done it on the Hat for years. Dedicated service to the Pub forum, he's had two usernames and is now added to the Hat #halloffame it's @Bad_Mobby

Funniest Poster: Another victory for the punter's favourite @cheesepipes. The Hat cannot get enough of the non-PC musings of our African correspondent.

Best Poster: A lot of nominations here, perhaps illustrating the depth of talent in the squad. However, the award can only go to one man. Beating @Fridge and @The Buzzard by a solitary vote, all the way from downtown Detroit, it's @Ke1t.
