Tord31
Humerous that GMS is being credited with similar status as Shinnie. An utter irrelevance in the history of AFC 1 Link to comment

TheRock
He'll be 28 at the start of next season so he's still plenty left. Not quite the same situation as McGinn and Hayes leaving in their 30s Link to comment
AllyDon
Said before Christmas that if he did not committe his future to Aberdeen by the close of the January transfer window he should be stripped of the captaincy. A number of people disagreed for various reasons. Nothing has happened to make me change my mind. Remove the captaincy now. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Shinnie & GMS inflated wage offers could easily be better spent. Both players are wasted wages for what they bring averaged out over a season.Wouldn't be overly fussed to lose either/both players tbh. Shouldn't be any great task to replace either/both with their wages available Same would apply for a good few of our first eleven but Shinnie/GMS not signing new deals only highlights them & their poor value right now. Some folk are/were panicked regarding the potential of losing them (especially Shinnie) but the truth is they are easily replaced. Maybe that fear/worry mostly comes from their doubt in McInnes to find replacements as soon as in the next window Link to comment

Maybe that fear/worry mostly comes from their doubt in McInnes to find replacements as soon as in the next windowThat last sentence is exactly right. Other than maybe Lewis and McKenna, pretty much everyone in the squad should be reasonably easily replaceable with a bit of good scouting. He’ll replace them with a couple loan players and say we couldn’t get similar quality signed permanently within our budget. Link to comment

old sheep
Away you goIts Shinnie taking the piss and he should start to feel the pressure from the fans Increasingly, I am less concerned about losing him and more concerned about breaking the bank to keep himThey are both taking the piss. McInnes, like he did with Jack, is protecting the player. He always likes players who leave the club to do so on good terms with him. That's fair enough, but given its the club captain they both owe the supporters a bit of honesty. More so, when we saw it all before with Jack. Link to comment
cruzcampo3
I thought the days of players stringing along the club over new contracts ended years ago. No player is bigger than the club. Should be making an example of these two captain and club hero with fans our not. Date should have been set back in August if they hadn’t signed by then offers of the table. Club needs to grow a back bone and stop being taking for a ride by players Link to comment

old sheep
And do you think he shouldn't protect the player if it is to the trans benefit?Instead, he should shout out about what's happening to appease the likes of you? There is also of course the chance that he is telling the truth and they haven't decided yetCalm downThere is no benefit to the club on this 'transfer' as the player is out of contract in the summer and we are not receiving any fee. If you think Shinnie hasn't decided yet, you are either incredibly stupid or naive. His interview on Red TV the other week was as much proof as you need. He couldn't have been any more uncomfortable when asked about his future and even stuttered over his pre rehearsed line to take. Link to comment
Reed or deed
How is that going to help the team now?Wasting your time asking him questions min. Just comes out with stupid statements and doesn't come back if you ask him to explain them. Clown. Link to comment
TheRock
I keep reading that certain players are 'easily' replaced. While I agree losing key players isn't the end of the world, I'm not sure how 'easily' replaced they are. Link to comment
shooftahmooftah
Any player who is not giving 100 percent like a few yesterday needs to be dropped , some permanently. If they have signed pre contracts with an other club , what's the point of having dreamers running around the pitch. Mcinnes be a f---g MAN and drop them. The loyal supporters deserve more than what was dished up yesterday against the bottom of the league team heading for the championship. 1 Link to comment
AllyDon
How is that going to help the team now?I didn't say it would help the team. What it will do is show that no player is bigger than the club. If he wants to run his contract down then that's his business but not as our club captain. Shinnie came to the club as one of the best left backs in the league. He is not one of the best midfielders in the league and certainly should not be one of our highest paid player I do have concerns about McInnes ability to replace him but that's a different story. 1 Link to comment

Dynamo
Contract negotiations becoming very tedious year on year. Players don't want to commit to a new deal we should look to cash in with a year to go. Nobody in our squad is irreplaceable. GMS shows up one in every four games. Shinnie has the drive and determination that is an attribute every combative midfielder should have, but technically he's nowhere near even Kenny McLean. Link to comment
cruzcampo3
Shinnie should be getting it tight now from the standsHe is lucky he has gotten away with it till mid febI'll be giving it him tight from my couchThis is the problem though cause he’s from Aberdeen and runs about a bit certain fans thinks he’s the second coming. No playe is bigger than Aberdeen Football Club Link to comment
