With regard to the OP question, there’s some decent players there but there’s definitely some he needs to offload and bring in better players. Some will be off anyway and it’s about replacing them with better quality so as much as I’d like to see rid of a few players, (Hiya Shayden pal…) we’ll lose Barron, likely Miovski, possibly Duk, loanees and other contracts ending and hopefully get some new blood that are first team players that improve the squad and make the more bang average players up their game…

Yes, but “believing in the players” is equal to believing in Santa, the tooth fairy, God or whatever else if you’re not winning games. These players should have the wherewithal to be able to withstand a little pressure in the same way that there should be some team camaraderie and character in the dressing room. The best managers knows when to push and when to put an arm around a player. We haven’t had one of those in a long time…

Posted in the other thread but here's my take... The VAR check is to see whether it's a penalty. If there's a foul before it, the ref has missed it. Is it a penalty ? Yes. Penalty stands. If the ref misses the foul before it, it's not there to re ref the game. Would I be happy if the shoe was on the other foot in that instance, probably not.... but ref the penalty, not what came before it.

I guess the issue for me is... The VAR is for the penalty check. If the ref didn't spot a foul before it that's not what's being checked for. Was it a penalty yes ? The ref missed a foul before hand ? Tough shit. It's a penalty and that's what was being checked for and that to me is how it should be officiated.

Exactly this. We clearly spread whatever resources we have way too thin on acquiring the bakers dozen of mostly duffers. Would rather spend time on 6 quality signings and then improve on that in January, with ideally players that aren't signing new contracts at their existing clubs.
