Why are other clubs able to develop their own left backs and we seem unable? Doig did look good last night and only 18 they nicked him from Hearts. DABs also took on a 17 Year old centre half last night who did ok Link to comment

CalgaryDon
Hibs have undoubtedly had a great start to the season however its very much early days. We've played one match against The Rangers. I'm anticipating Hibs to lose momentum before the end of this month. Premature but I'm predicting 4th place for Hibs. They've only added two decent players (they lost Kamberi) this window and their defence isn't nearly as strong as ours. Remember they finished bottom six last season. Our final position in the league will be determined by the injuries we sustain throughout the season. Already we've been hit badly with Main and Cosgrove out + currently we have 6 players out through quarantine. Hopefully Edmondson can fill the void up front. I present a controversial opinion here but I'd argue that had we been more fortunate with injuries and certain ref decisions the past two seasons we'd have finished third (we also advanced further in both the cups and played extra fixtures in Europe comparative to Motherwell and Killie). We'd have finished third last season had the season not ended early. The fact is its a sad indictment of Scottish Football that the best we and everyone else outside the OF can hope for is 3rd place (And potentially a cup final). Edit: We'll finish 3rd this season Link to comment

Their form after that was pretty good to even get themselves in the argument for top half. That momentum is still with them just now. Link to comment
Tord31
A lot of it about momentum so I'm hoping Hibs get brought down to earth asap Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Slightly less concerned about momentum in so far as we're not playing. Hardly going to say our points are in the bag but its not like we're on same games played and cant buy a win. That is so much more fun... Link to comment

But our manager is a shitebag who seems to think keeping it tight and playing a long ball is the way to go... 1 Link to comment

Geoff_Tipps
I have a real nagging concern we could be looking at a similar season to what Hearts had last season. Maybe not relegation, but think we might be bottom six. We have the players capable of fighting it out at the right end of the table, it's unfortunate our manager goes into every game worrying about the opposition rather than concentrating on our strengths and playing to them. The longer McInnes stays the bigger clean up job for the next manager. Hibs will finish 3rd without a shadow of doubt. Link to comment
Tord31
Goodness me thats a bit too pessimistic for my liking. Weve finished fourth for two seasons and in the top three the previous five seasons. We'll be safe enough for something similar and although Hibs have started well I'd only be worried about them cleary being third if they had a 7-8 point cushion after 11 games. Top 5 for europe this season and I'm certainly not thinking we are outwith that Link to comment
dj_bollocks
Can we have an intervention on what we achieved more than 2 seasons ago ? If my results had taken a downturn in 2 years I probably wouldn't still be in my job... He won a cup... 6 years ago, in what is known as the dullest cup final in forever... We will finish 4th or worse if DMc is still here this season... A new guy in charge...? Might be a better outcome. Link to comment
