  1. Another late winner for Dandy. Never in doubt 😅
  2. Ill try and be positive here. Showed a bit of character to pull it back from 0-3 down. Things could’ve got ugly if Warnock hadn’t made the changes when he did. I think we all recognise the ‘back 3’ experiment, enforced or not will be firmly in the bin after this. Duk grabbing a brace is very welcome, certainly need him to rediscover his form from last season. Draw a fair result given both teams robbed of a goal for minor infractions. Warnock learning fast where our deficiencies lie but is limited in what he can do to fix them. The challenge is getting some consistency out of this team which has been woefully inconsistent so far this season. Too many are performing below the level we know they can achieve, but it could be dragged out of them with the right guidance.
  3. I've probably been more patient than most with Barry but there's just no sign that his managerial nous is anything more than mediocre. Situation rapidly going the way of Glass and Goodwin who stuck stubbornly to their own methods and squads but couldn't adapt when things went downhill. There's been some strange goings on with personnel (Williams, Dadia, Vinny frozen out, Mcdonald & Duk being used sparingly) and very little evidence he knows how best to use the squad at his disposal. We're better than this, but performances have been miles below par. A good manager would not have been satisfied with the Clyde showing. That Squad did not deserve to start again today.
  4. Fri - Bristol Rovers v Charlton btts 4/6 You need a pick for Sat too?
  5. We’re a right miserable bunch eh. Cup final at the weekend, fresh aff a win in the league and yet the chat is still about clearing the CEO, half the boardroom, first team manager and playing staff.
  6. We didn’t know at the time that Glass would be an unmitigated failure, but I agree its rare that a manager with little to no experience becomes an instant success. Mcinnes, much like Calderwood had ample time to implement their own philosophies but neither lifted us to the next level and ultimately the fans lost patience. Understandable that younger fans would look at the Mcinnes era through dewy eyes when you look at the shite that’s bookended it. The general lop-sided structure of Scottish football makes it immensely difficult for any manager outside the OF to win accolades nowadays. That doesn’t stop us hoping it’ll all come together one day and we’ll get the consistency required to properly have a go.
  7. Let’s not over-glorify Derek’s achievements since leaving us. He’s a steady manager, a good man manager by all accounts. The fact so many ex-Dons have followed him to Killie bear that out. He has his way of doing things and hasn’t strayed from it, which is why he’s unlikely to manage at a higher level then ourselves. I certainly won’t disparage his time at the Dons but equally he’d run his course with us and wasn’t going to buy into Cormack’s innovations. Ultimately its trophies that count and despite several attempts, he only gained us one pot. One we were favourites to win. Robson would eclipse his effort by beating the huns, a far harder task in my eyes.
  8. I'm lost with the whole LIV v PGA thing. Aren't they supposed to be merging under PIF? I think there's room in the sport for a team set up to make golf less individualistic but lets be honest, what incentive do those guys have to win tournaments when they're paid an obscene amount of money to just be there. Kinda sad to see Rahm trying to justify his joining and ridiculous wage because he wants to be part of a team. Sure thing Jon 🤥
  9. I know Clarke’s mantra is to have a club like set up with this squad which is why he’s sticking with the tried and tested players by and large. Hard to argue as it’s been getting results. Reminds me of Craig Brown’s tenure who stuck by the same core of players but was too slow to introduce the next generation. That led to the Vogts wilderness years where he handed out caps like sweeties because there was a severe lack of experience left to choose from. Pleased to see Shankland get on and have an immediate impact. As the only ‘form’ striker we’ve got right now he probably should be ahead of Dykes at least. We should be using these dead rubbers to see what other options we have up front as Dykes, Brown and Adams are a poor selection (more a reflection on the dearth of talent in the SPFL, especially at youth level).
