Micky Portillo`s Railway Journeys

Recommended Posts

Portillo is an eloquent voice capable of delivering Bradshaws bequeathed wisdom with the gravitas it deserves.

I love programs like this but then the explorer in me has an insatiable thirst for knowledge, self improvement and experience.

While the gaylord in you has an insatiable thirst for spunk.

Speaking of trains, the trans Siberian rail journey, 152 hours.

How that could be deemed enjoyable is beyond me, unless they dished out MDMA as part of the in house entertainment.

Are you nae meant to get off at the stops and stay for a few days as opposed to doing it in a oner which is a bit pointless?

16 stops x 2 nights, + 8 days travelling = 40 days.

Journey

Then carry onwards to Pyongyang.

I looked into doing it before, but the biggest issue seemed to be getting a 1-way flight back home for anything approaching a reasonable price.

Additionally, if you're getting the train that far, you'd be as well starting in Aberdeen.

Really hoping for an even bigger Oil Crash so I can sneak off for a few months doing this instead of 'Work' nonsense.

I'm not keen on Porty.
