Has Atlanta been good for AFC

It seems since the agreement with Atlanta things for Aberdeen have gone downhill rapidly. With the exception of Ramirez any additions through this tie up have been substandard. But what’s  more annoying is Aberdeen being involved in murky dealings with information being withheld from the support eg Herdanez and Glass

I agree. Only thing I'd say is our structure and plans are very much what Cormack has learned from atlanta so it's all linked.

I believe Cormack has the best intentions but since he came in with this partnership it has been absolutely shite. Wouldn't be surprised if he is picking the team and the signings.

Don’t know how much of this calamity is down to Mowbray. He could well be finding the players and it’s fucked up by Gunn in negotiations. 
 

I’d be getting rid of Gunn and taking in an actual DoF who knows what he’s doing with a proven track record and then making a decision on Mowbray a wi Dow or two down the line

Not in any way shape or form. Been a complete waste of time & has only helped lead to our overall decline. 
For all the credit you want to give Atlanta for Ramirez (would we not have found another striker without their links) there is Glass,Gurr & Gallagher that have come our way through the direct Atlanta links.

Nothing decent about this link up. Club has only gone backwards since day one of them giving us $2m or whatever it was towards Cormack park. 
 

If it had been a Saudi club or whatever without links to Cormack then we would have cut any ties long ago but the snake oil salesman has gotten us locked in with this pointless ‘partnership’ 

Cormack is just a wee minion to Atlanta & through that we are also through him but Aberdeen is his we escape to feel like the big boy over here because he cannot over there.

 

Blank. That Home Depot guy that owns Atlanta is worth somewhere between $7-10 Billion. Cormack is just a wee tramp to him trying to play with the big boys.

We definitely didn't scout Polvara. Was a recommendation through Bobby Clark. There's a good interview with Polvara's coach explaining the sequence of events online.

Aberdeen have confirmed the appointment of Henry Apaloo as assistant coach.

Blackburn-born Apaloo was formerly assistant at Atlanta United 2, alongside Pittodrie manager Stephen Glass.

Apaloo was recently promoted to work with the Atlanta United first team and played a key role in the MLS club's player development model.

As a player Apaloo had spells at Blackburn Rovers, Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers, before spending two years with Preston North End FC.

He is currently completing his UEFA coaching licenses.

Just found his instagram page and he is a VERY very cringeable man. Looks like if he meets anyone remotely in the limelight he can't just speak to them and has to beg them for a selfie. Have some respect for yourself, jesus christ. He probably snapped a shot with Gio at the huns match

They seem to have a lot of cash so that's handy I suppose.  The problem is what they want in return for that.

I'd be getting rid of both as surely the management team of Glass and Brown are more than enough to sell Aberdeen Football Club to any potential signings and do the necessary negotiations, without the unnecessary and, quite frankly, ridiculous requirement of a DoF and Head of Recruitment.

Isn’t head of recruitment just a jumped up title for scout, or at least that’s how I see it.

Exactly min. That's all it is. There are plenty of snouts and scouts employed by Aberdeen, who have a main job elsewhere, but give feedback on potential talent, without the articial need for a Head of Recruitment.

The relationship has been an unmitigated disaster. I have written about it in the past, but Atlanta have nothing to offer regarding building a winning team, hiring good coaches/managers or producing talented players. Their commercial success is built on the heavily protected franchise model and their match day “experience” caters for customers that share zero comparison with why we love football, or what can be delivered logistically. I’ve written about it enough in the past so I can’t be fucked repeating myself further.

We should be partnering with clubs who have a PROVEN history in cultivating talented youth and who achieve success on the field.

America is a fucking horrible place, built on capitalism and vacuous morals. Their priorities as a society don’t mirror ours, so why would their business models?
