  1. That boy McStay has potential, I hear (a billion times from Celtic fans). 🙄
  2. Since 1989-90 when we did it, so just over 30 years. It's shocking when you consider how many teams have won the SC since our last one in 1990.
  3. Indeed he is. Maybe we should lobby for him to invest in the Club? He once jokingly said he'd give us a million, if Roy Aitken got dreadlocks. 🤔🤣
  4. If ET Moyes turns down Scotland, you may be right, but in terms of club football, despite what the maroon spoon burners (and their green counterparts) may insist, they are not bigger clubs than us. In fact, it's a sad indictment on them that they've utterly failed to capitalise (a few trophies aside) on our underachievement since around 1997. Agreed. Apparently some West Ham fans (incredibly - who has "unrealistic expectations" again?!) want him out and rumours are he won't stay on beyond the end of this season.
  5. Good post. Not only was his time up (and arguably had been for a good 12, possibly 18 months) it's also telling that he ended up at Kilmarnock. No disrespect to them, they are an established SPL side, but my point is, if he was as good as some (not least the Weegia) make him out to be, he'd have earned himself a much higher profile gig. Therefore it's not a stretch to surmise that, like Calderwood for instance, AFC is the biggest club he'll ever manage.
  6. Not just that, no. Despite our poor (relatively speaking) overall showing since around 1997, no other club has grabbed the initiative and taken on the mantle of a clear 3rd force, or whatever you want to call it. Hearts and Hibs have both been relegated several times between them in that timeframe. Of course, you could argue McInnes's first 5 seasons bolster the argument, if anything, that we are the natural 'best of the rest' in Scottish football. A very modest accolade, many will argue, but while I agree with those who say we should aspire to a little more than that, this is the minimum benchmark we should set. Yes, but you're just a deliberately contrarian weegie gobshyte.
  7. Incorrect. We were a cracking team in the 1940's and 50's and especially the 70's. From the 70's, we remained a force in Scottish football until the mid-90's. That consistency over a quarter of a century, combined with the fan base, particularly the away support, makes a very strong case for being, at least, the legitimate "3rd force". Hearts on the other hand have won little of note since the 1960's and are perennial bottles, while their city rivals went over a century without winning the Scottish Cup!
  8. I had a lot of respect for him, until he lost the plot and became Juden Peterstein, championing Nutjobyahoo and his government's war crimes. He's controlled opposition. No-one who opposes Communism and quotes Alexander Solzhenitsyn as much as he does can be blissfully unaware of who was behind it to begin with.
  9. He nailed it, albeit diplomatically, when he said he wished he was here for a year AND had two transfer windows. To pull the plug on Robson after the window closed was idiotic on the FMB's part. I wish Warnock all the best, whatever he does, but it's clear there's more to this, as the timing is lousy, with a permanent appointment not even confirmed.
  10. He did a fantastic job here with NI, but took the Stoke City job with mixed results. Not entirely his fault, he was in a tough league with limited resources, but his second stint as NI manager has struggled badly, largely due to the team being in transition and him having to throw in a lot of young, inexperienced players. The next tournament will be the decider for his second spell. Personally I think he could do well for us, if he doesn't go the way Paterson did, but it's a risk.
  11. If McInnes returns, would that be a good move for either side? They say you should never go back (note to Huns: Walter Smith's treachery in leaving Scotland doesn't count, as he had an unfair - read illegal - financial advantage) and it rarely works out. He's probably got his eye on a return to the English Championship and let's face it, his overall record merits it. A German candidate? Could be intriguing, but I've heard nothing. Excellent post. It's ridiculous mismanagement to wait until the transfer window was gone before pulling the trigger on the Robson experiment. Unless he could work miracles with an unbalanced squad depleted of confidence, Warnock never stood a chance.
  12. The Donnie Osmond imposter has turned us into a basket case club. If it's Lennon or Derek Adams, just watch the fireworks from disgruntled fans - and who could blame them?
  13. Agreed. While I agree with the pundits, professionals and fans alike who say Tyson was (slightly) overrated, there's no doubt Paul wouldn't last a round with him in his prime. A joke of a fight. I note with interest how the BBC and other outlets say this was a "statement win", in reality it's nothing of the sort. A world champion boxer against an MMA world champion under boxing rules is only likely to go one way. It's high time the governing bodies put a stop to this nonsense and enforced mandatory defences. We have Fury Vs Usyk then a rematch, but if the pokey wins he should be forced to fight Joshua (with rematch clause) or vacate. End of.
