I’d also say going by the graphic that the box has been placed over the occupants rather than the occupants being placed inside the box.

Sadly this is where Scottish Football lives.

It's acquiescence to the OF, or the foreboding that they will take over eventually.

Granted they have a fanatical fan-base in one city, maybe maniacal is the better word. But, this is half a city. Aberdeen is one city.

Granted their history provides years of funding from said fan-base - indoctrinated, year on year, for the people, for the cause...

Utter shite the lot of it.

A sad reflection of subservient Scotland.

Irony being, neither would exist in their present state were it not for the scummy colonialism of the British fucks.

Fuck saving energy for fucking Dundee. If that's where we are then they can all fuck off.

Try and score goals. That's all that's required. We didn't. Over two legs.

Fuck mcinnes

So we shouldn't have ambitions to be better? Do these teams spend more than us? Kairat maybe but not sure about the rest.

Wtf is the point in following a football team if you don't have ambition?

Just admit it, we've done terribly in Europe and should be doing better.

So it’s all about glory for you then, nothing to do with supporting your local team or being part of something. All about winning trophies for you.

Do you ask St Mirren fans what the point in them supporting their team is if they accept they are unlikely to win something? Do we just all not bother with our clubs anymore because Celtic win everything?

Expending a heap of energy when we're down to 10 men and cannot win the tie, makes no sense given that we have a very important game on Sunday.

Mental how people can’t understand that tbh. Too busy foaming at the mouth.

Getting beat from Dundee in the cup is a worse result than losing to Rijeka.

And again, 15 minutes into the 2nd leg against Rijeka I completely agree. Prior to that, sorry no question which was the more important tie. And again for emphasis, in said tie, over 180 minutes we achieved half the number OF SHOTS* as they achieved goals.

*Haven’t checked stats, that’s from memory.

The point is you play to win every game or at least entertain the fans. How many folk paid money to go to that game and had to watch us fuck about and will be thinking, oh well at least nobody got a career threatening injury by actually trying to attack.

What was the post match team talk, well done for not getting injured and fit for Dundee.

You know fine well that's not the point and you're clutching at straws now but I'll reply anyway.

No, but that's what it's all about. Hoping your team get better, ambition, making progress etc.

St Mirren fans will be hoping they can make progress the same as anyone else.

Right now as a club we aren't. Pretty simple.

That’s not what it’s about at all. You take the bad times with the good, it’s not just about winning things.

You sound like an old firm fan tbh, only care about trophies

What? By attacking and trying to win the game. Think that is everyone’s point?

Not by deciding to down tools in a cup tie. Fuck you on about?

Look, I understand what some of you are saying, the Croatians are no mugs, but it is a very pertinent question to ask why, since we convincingly beat them last time, they have kicked on a level (even reaching the group stages on one occasion) but we haven't, despite our resources? Why does McInnes keep repeating the same mistakes and why do we keep failing to move forward, when teams like Rijeka punch above their weight?

History will show that the 'treble treble' Celtic side was a very ordinary one (look at their European performances compared to under Strachan, for one thing) which we failed to even lay a glove on. Not to mention the fact we surrendered second place meekly AND let Kilmarnock pip us to third by virtue of good management, who saw them punch above their weight. I can't see us progressing any further under McInnes and I think we'll live to regret this contract extension.

Their chairman has pumped in 50 million euros. That’s why they’re where they’re at.

Without serious investment then it’s never going to change. Under mcinnes it’s been about the best it can realistically be. People need to accept this instead of living in the 80’s.

Sensible statement ^.
We haven't won league since 1985 (34 years), haven't won Scottish Cup since 1990 (29 years) and have won one League Cup since 1995 (24 years).

The last 3 matches have been terrible but, seriously, we are going to have inconsistent spells because, guess what, having the third highest player budget in our league is like being "the best dressed man in Airdrie", it doesn't mean a lot.

To get anywhere near the success of the 1980's we do need serious investment to improve the playing squad, where there is 2 decent quality players challenging for each position in the team.

Yes but the point is not that we do not have resources. The fact is we do not have a fucking go. As stated going all guns blazing at Parkhead would be ridiculous and you need a game plan.

However there iseems to be no attacking intent other than get a pen for Cosgrove.

Get the Wilson show on.

I am not living in the 80's, thank you very much. If you can't at least engage the points I and many others have made, then back off. I have no time for happy clappers. It is inexcusable that we haven't had at least one playoff round in six attempts and continually shyte ourselves in big games, especially against one of the weakest Celtic sides since the early 90's. Losing to them is understandable, but to do so meekly (and to have surrendered second to an ordinary Orc side AND pipped by Kilmarnock) means questions must be asked of the manager, who has been given very good backing, for the most part.
