I thought about this Chewie and I think its because all the characters are so good. Most horror films have such shallow performances but The Shining Ive watched countess times just to watch Nicholson et al. Visually it's brilliant and the sound is top notch as well.

So , no , not a horror movie to me.

Pretty good answer, I suppose it’s more a horror thriller. Still to watch @@Dad documentary about it. The woman character in it really grates though, even before becoming a screaming mess

Solo - decent enough for a Friday night. Think it didn’t do well at the cinema but it was better than the last proper Star Wars film. 7/10

I watched it in the cinema and the other day at home, it’s a bit bland really, Chewie (obviously) and Childish Gambino being the only real highlights. Disney is obviously trying to do similar to the Marvel movies where they do a stand alone film and hope to run sequels to that particular story rather than just stick to original Star Wars...........

Is the latest Jason Bourne film any good? Got it on my Netflix list, to hammer through some time.

It was okay, but just think they’re stuck in a rut with him now. Don’t see why they don’t have him do jobs for the government again as an honest agent. Also my wife’s friend worked on that film too, that’s my new claim to fame. He also teaches lightsaber classes...........

Has your wife been to his 'lightsaber classes'?

For those who haven't caught these before now, here are a couple of goodies. A History Of Violence and Bone Tomahawk.

History of Violence is a good shout, they tweaked it slightly from the comic, a nice job from Cronenburg though.

Never seen Bone Tomahawk, looks a decent cast though, will try and find it to watch ;)

My eldest girl is currently obsessed with the cartoon film Trolls (2016).

I came in one day (mildly stoned) and they were watching it, so I sat down to watch with them.  I had no idea it was quite a musical film and thought it was just a cartoon.

And so when one of the bergens (monsters who eat the trolls) suddenly sang a lovely version* of Lionel Ritchie's "Hello, is it me you are looking for?" I was somewhat taken aback to say the least.

At first I had the notion that this couldn't be happening and it must be my own hazy interpretation of on-screen events, but soon realised it was indeed happening and my confusion was down chiefly to not expecting music, and not anything else.

Anyway, its a great film for wee yins, recommended.

*the version is sung by zooey deschanel and produced by justin timberlake, so there you are.

Watched Polar on Netflix, review said it was like a split personality between Smokin Aces and John Wick. Mads Mikkelsen is good as the main character a retiring assassin, plenty of gore, fight scenes and some decent tits too. A wee twist at the end but that doesn’t end how you’d think. Yet another comic turned into a film 7/10
