Are our clubs are missing a trick by not setting up pre-match zones with bars, burger joints, big screens and lots of atmosphere.

Reading about these pre-match fan zones why do clubs in Scotland not give this a try.

It could generate income for the clubs as well as bringing more younger people to the games.

Aberdeen should go for it

Agreed that they would be good. You only need to look at outside Murrayfield how packed it is pre and post game to see it can be a success. However as RUL said it would be pointless to many in colder months, but also would it get the approval from
Police etc I have my doubts

Surely a massive gazebo outside the dick end with halogen heaters wouldn't be overly fanciful? Round/square bar in the middle that can be wheeled in and out and you're done!

This. Always thought that area to the rear of the RDS would be absolutely perfect for something like this.

It would be. And folk don't seem put off by the cold and dark etc when it's the Christmas markets.

Club should pick a handful of Saturday 3 Oclock's next season to trial it at.

Nothing stopping them. Apply for drinks licence from the council and away you go.

You could set t up yourself given the right paperwork completion and approval.

Fanzones wont work in Scotland until the government and police stop treating all fans like they are all scum out looking for trouble. The police here won't allow fanzones. They don't like fans congregating in areas. They want you into the ground as quickly as possible and they want you away from the ground even quicker.
