Hope it's good. Fucking love L&H, fucking immortal.

The guy who made this film is running some sort of Doric Film-making contest through the Journals, or some such. Anyone heard about this?

I briefly entertained submitting an entry to this, but they all seem to be very ploom-in-the-mooth, Crawford and Farqhar cut the crusts orf the serndwiches sorts... and my profanity-laden shite is very definitely not what they'd be looking for.

I'm going to guess they want some Hugh fucking Grant caper but with psuedo-doric spoken in an awfy poash voice.

Fower Weedins an a Fyownrul... sort of thing.

It was always going to be a piece of shit.

The franchise has been on the slide since the second Predator cast Danny fucking Glover as the action lead.

The first Predator movie is the greatest bloke flick in the history of cinema.

The only slight bright spot being they haven't 'rebooted' it with an all female cast... yet.

Starring Melissa McCarthy as the main protagonist trying to stop the predator, played by Madonna, from stealing African babies.

I saw the Equaliser with Denzel Washington this evening.   Good.  8/10.

Loved the Russian baddy in it.  Quite tense at times and with good action scenes.  One of those characters where you think "I wish I was like him and could kick fuck out of loads of people at once",

Not keen on these revisions of characters as a rule - the 80s Equaliser TV show with Edward Woodward was awesome, with one of my fave theme tunes ever = however I liked Denzel Washington a lot and he was also a producer on it.

Bad Times At The El Royale.

Well, it's definitely different. Tarantino-esque in it's direction for sure, a group of odd characters all hiding their own secrets check in at an equally odd hotel. It's interesting enough in its concept but it is fucking long. Would be far better without the lengthy check in sequence at the beginning.

First Man.

Not at alll about the moon landing, more a character study of Neil Armstrong come historical document of how Armstrong came to be commander of that Apollo mission. It's a slow mover and won't be everyone's cup of tea and also drags on a bit. 6/10 for me.

Halloween.

A reboot of the Halloween franchise. First you need to rewind back to the end of the original and forget everything else that took place after. Mad Mikey has been locked up for 40 years during which time Jamie Lee Curtis' character Laurie Strode has turned into a paranoid, gun toting mentalist just biding her time until Michael finally escapes. There's bits of this that work ok and other stuff that makes no sense at all.

One thing that makes no sense to me... I saw her die in one of the Halloween movies.

But she's alive and well in this one?

She cut his head off in H2O but as I've said, they've changed the storyline so nothing that happened after the original movie counts. The ending also leaves the door ajar for further sequels or even further developments but I hope they don't, the story is done.

Me and Mrs Balboa are going to see Bohemian Rhapsody at the weekend. I'm keeping an open mind, but after so many production problems, it's hard to tell if it'll live up to expectations. Borat wanted it to be a big cocaine-riddled, AIDS-ridden buggery festival, but since the personnel changes they seem to have gone for the more musical angle (rightly IMHO).

It IS band oriented. If Freddie had a wild lifestyle it is only hinted at and glossed over in this.
