Added in Europa Dates - I would suggest we will see a further couple of games against Non Scottish opposition between the 8th July and 26th July as Cove and inverurie arent going to be the best warm up for Europa

Must be non Scottish as the League Cup will be underway by then.

Disappointingly I think the club had planned on us finishing 3rd - the friendly programme is more suited to QR1 entry as is our date back which I believe is 15 June. We are now committed to the games, in particular ST Johnstone which is a testemonial

It doesn't need to be non scottish teams. Remember it's
groups of 5 so a 8 teams are off per match day. So shouldn't be too difficult to find teams to play if wanted to stay in Scotland

Very short notice though

we either wait until the fixtures are put in place and then the TV companies get their act together and hope that a suitable team is available or we make our own arrangements now . if BT and SPFL don't announce the fixtures for two or 3 weeks we could be scrambling around trying to find Division 3 teams or Premiership teams who would prefer to concentrate on a good start in the league cup rather than a friendly for us

What benefit would there be playing Stranraer away (or worse them coming to us)?  Or a 2nd string Hearts more concerned about a game against ICT on the Tuesday? or Kilmarnock (on astroturf)concentrating on St Mirren in a make or break game?

I would also guess we will have a "training camp" somewhere around that time - adds more of a problem for a short notice arrangement.

Starting Preseason about 5/6 weeks before our first game seems a bit daft in hindsight and the programme was clearly based on a QR 1 entry.

we had to prepare for both eventualities and we can sack off the games and go on a pre season abroad if DM wants to spend some of his budget doing that

*sack off..... clearly by announcing some games as Aberdeen XI we knew it may or may not be the first team

We play unofficial friendlies every year.

Doncaster last year wasn't it? Maynard apparently scored a cracker. Turned out to be the only thing of note the cunt ever did in an Aberdeen shirt.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we were to fix up a match away to Hartlepool in late July. To be doubled up as a tribute to Neale Cooper.

Maybe add in a Cosgrove special at Carlisle as well

Dundee United as well. My pal was on trial at Peterhead. Watched us against them and he said we were levels above them.

Peterhead also hammered them.

That's right, the club will probably head down to St Andrews again, McInnes seems to like the training facilities.

I had a shit in a bunker at St Andrews once. Weeks later I saw Sergio Garcia trying to play a tricky shot from the exact spot .
He seemed to pause as he was about to play the ball as if he caught a whiff of something.

each team gets a match day off obviously with it being groups of five. you'd have thought cove would have persuaded the spfl to give them day 1 off. They now play sat before and weds after our friendly so probably better to make it a reserve team match now and organise something else

Fuck them.

The Huns shouldn't be organising friendlies before the fixtures come out.
