#1602118 New Stadium Approved

Posted by Donnet on 20 May 2018 - 11:04 AM

Yes, plenty. To give you some examples - Juventus, Lyon and Nice. There are many, many more examples.

Now, rather than answering a question with a question, can you answer mine and come up with examples of clubs who have built out of town stadiums, are still in their top flight, yet have seen their crowds drop?

Juve's new stadium is on the same site as the delle Alpi. They only moved to the Olympico while they were rebuilding it. Even then it's less than 3 miles from the centre of Turin and still very much in the city. It also has a dedicated tram station at the ground.

Lyon's old stadium was already "out of town" by your own standards - being 3 miles from the centre of Lyon.

#1600369 Europa League 18/19

Posted by Donnet on 16 May 2018 - 10:22 AM

Seeded/unseeded won't be confirmed until all entrants are confirmed but so far it looks like:

Confirmed QR2 teams:

RB Leipzig

FC Ufa

Asteras Tripoli

Admira Wacker Modling

Teams who will/may be seeded if they win QR1

Maccabi Tel Aviv

Lech Poznan

FH (Iceland)

Teams still to be confirmed:

Rijeka or Hadjuk Split - depends on final league game and cup final

Legia Warsaw - qualified for QR2 at least by winning cup but could still get a CL place via league finish

7th from Italy - currently Atalanta but could be AC Milan or Fiorentina

6th from France - currently Nice but could be Rennes, Bordeaux or Saint-Etienne

EL play off winners from Belgium - Zulte Waregem, Lokeren, Gent or Genk

4th place from Turkey - currently Besiktas but could be Fenerbache or Basaksehir

4th from Czech Republic - currently Jablonec but could be Sigma Olomouc or Sparta Prague
EL playoff winners from Holland - Vitesse or Utrecht
There's a few more unconfirmed teams but they are unlikely to be seeded. Most of this will be a lot clearer after this weekend with the last league games or cup finals taking place.

Knowing our luck we'd get a player with the pace of craig brown (now), the dribbling ability of ash Taylor, with Kenny McLean's right foot

But he'd have crackin' tits

They don't need to be in phase one. From the very beginning the club have said they plan to build an indoor facility. They have never said they would build it in phase one.

If the club say they are going to build an indoor facility, why are people criticising them for not building one?

Surely you can wait a few years while Aberdeen ensure they have the essentials in place before building luxuries, which is what an indoor pitch it. It isn't essential. How many times in 2017 did we train indoors because we couldn't train outdoors? My guess is probably less than five.

You've jumped into an argument here without looking at what you were replying to. The club could very well be planning to add an indoor pitch in future but why would that be included in the £10m cost they are quoting for the training facilities? That was the whole point of my post and you've gone off on one about something else.

Anyway, if we only have to use Sports Village 5 times a year why was it the centrepiece of McInnes' begging speech to the fans at the Aurora launch? Crying about being kicked off the training field for the Uni hockey team. Aye spend £10m and don't even fix his main complaint.

Steve Gerald will be announced as new hun manager later today. Kinda flies in the face of the administration theories of the last few years.

The old Rangers signed Daniel Cousin on 5k per week the day before they went into administration. It doesn't stop them.

2min walk from Hilton to great norther road beside the pubs? Yer having a laugh.

Maybe he gets a lift from Donnet on his 15 minute drive to Pittodrie.   :whistling:

Not surprised you've fucked up that post with all the saliva that must be on your keyboard. Just smash your face off the keyboard next time you'll make more sense.

#1590496 What Do We Need To Sign This Summer?

Posted by Donnet on 23 April 2018 - 01:10 PM

I read his old club will get a good chunk of it as he was there during most of the qualifiers.

I think the last World Cup was something like 3k per day per player.

$8530 per day from 2 weeks before the opening game until (and including) the day his team is knocked out. This money is then split pro rata between the clubs he has been registered with over the last 2 years.

Days between 2 weeks before opening game of WC and Icelands last group game: 27

means a total of $230,310 being paid to Arnason's clubs

Been at us 347 days - as of the day of Icelands last group game (this could be affected by his actual contract end date if it ends June 1st or something) - out of 730 days in the last 2 years

I make that $109,951 - or £78,724 - heading to Pittodrie.

Plus an additional £2903 for every day Iceland are still in the tournament after the group stage.
