Post Split Fixtures Discussion

I will be amazed if Christie gets to sit a suspension for a Celtic game.

I would actually be less shocked if the SPFL don't give him an extra 2 games suspension just for good measure

Why wouldn't he?

He's got to be either a Celtic player (parent club) or an Aberdeen player so serves his ban.

If he got banned last game of the season and returned to Celtic he'd be banned for their first game. The ban is the person not the club he plays for.

His ban would count for the game against celtic if it was in fact them we play. Case closed.

Seems to be a moot point now that he's still actually 1 yellow card away from a suspension but a match vs Celtic wouldn't count as his suspended match.

Serving of Suspensions – Eligibility

A player’s suspension can only be served if the player is otherwise eligible for selection for a match. A player who is ineligible for a match due to the application of competition rules or other reason cannot regard that fixture as having served a suspension.

being cup tied etc is probably what that relates to

i doubt there is a specific rule for this situation and im fairly sure we are not going to find out as he needs to play for us, be booked and play celtic 10-14 days after the booking so its a tad unlikely

I literally quoted the specific rule for this situation.

I'm still confused by this.

They will play each other this week for a chance to play in the cup final. No issue from the authorities, go ahead.

On the other hand, they can't play each other in a title decider that isn't even a decider, as the league has been decided, it is just a matter of timing.

I know which I'd be more pissed off losing as a fan. Seems the authorities don't though...

You have to wonder how far the authorities go to avoid them playing in a cup final....

It could only happen in this country. What a fucking farce of a setup. Here's an idea, why not just fucking dock points or kick them out out the cups every time their fans misbehave? if its outside the ground, then deal with it the same way any other member of the public would be treated for being a cunt! simples.

You know it's the police that refuse to police it which us why it doesn't happen and not an SPFL ruling, yeah?

The SPFL are a joke. I don't doubt for a second that they had two sets of fixtures ready to release yesterday,

1. If Celtic could win the title in the first game meaning the first game would not be against sevco.

2. If Celtic couldn't win the title in the first game meaning the first game would be vs sevco.

They are now completely bricking it from Celtic and Brendan Rodgers after his comments on Sunday night and are seriously considering listing the old firm for the first week purely on the back of this. They will face backlash from the police and are clearly in discussions with them to try and list this fixture in the first week. There is no other reason why this is taking so long as it is making them look even more incompetent by the hour.

Police have refused to police a football match? Can you show me where you saw this please?

Police are consulted and their views given due consideration. It'd be unacceptable for police to "refuse" to police a game.
