Blogger PMG touting Mckenna to sellick for Hayes plus money.

No chance of that happening (I hope).

Much better to keep developing McKenna, and seek to insert a sell-on clause when selling him to some english mob later.

Rumours starting again that Villa may come back for him

McKenna grew up a Celtic fan did he not ?

Hanz, he may have but to be fair its irrelevant. the only things of relevance is If Celtic make an offer in whatever shape that is, does it match Aberdeen's valuation of him and are Aberdeen willing to sell their biggest current asset to a competitor in the same league and as others have suggested strengthen the area that they have struggled with

I think anybody saying that Celtic can't afford him is kidding themselves.  They are very healthy financially and could easily pay the 7-10M that we're looking for.

McKenna doesn't really fit their general modus operandi of sourcing players around the 3-4M range and selling them at a huge profit, but they've shown they are willing to go above that for the right player.

That being said, I can't see them breaking the bank for an SPFL player.  They'd have done it for John McGinn if they were prepared to.

Unfortunately I think there are a couple of different things in play right now that may make Celtic break from tradition and pay a big transfer fee for a Scottish player

1. Centre back has been a real problem area for them for the last couple of seasons but they have managed because they had Boyata so it was him +1, he will be gone in the summer if not before

2. They may have to pay a big fee but they will try and reduce the money to about £5M + Allen and Hendry or something along those lines

3. The fee may be big but McKenna's wage demands will not be any issue at all (maybe not the same if taking someone in from outside Scotland)

4. They probably do see themselves in a title fight now with the other horrible bastards and will be desperate not to let them win the league

I am hoping I am wrong, it is inevitable McKenna will leave in the near future if he keeps improving just hope its not to them.

That was never an option for us. He wanted to go back to Motherwell and nowhere else. He wanted guaranteed starts every week to try earn himself a good deal in the summer somewhere.

Sounds as though you had a conversation with him prior to him going to Motherwell, are you his agent??

Apart from the obvious big two budgets who around us has really done good business so far? Killie have lost there best player and are probably going to lose there second best player. Hibs have signed Gauld but in the process have lost Ambrose, Boyle and Hyndman.

Hearts have signed some unknown czech striker that was a deal done from back in the summer.

Unfortunately the market were in we may have to wait longer than the two arse cheeks for players as we can't match certain wages etc. We have to give it until the window shuts and then evaluate how we've done as more movement happens towards the end.

The one that disappoints me is McCormack to Motherwell, that's the type of signing I think would have been brilliant for us.
