  1. Must win but I can’t see any chance of it despite Hearts Shankland apart being very ordinary. Our team is so one paced and the midfield despite deploying 5 midfielders in the last few games is still all over the place. We need wingers to play that formation and there is no sign of either Robson playing the players we currently have in that position or signing some new ones if he doesn’t think they are good enough. He will probably go back to his shambolic 5 4-1 and the hearts defence on a tight pitch will just lap up the long balls we fire at them.
  2. Robson needs to go it’s so obvious and any delay is just delaying the inevitable as there is no coming back from yesterday. The only way out of it would be to string 7-8 wins together, which seems to be what the board is deluding itself with, but there is probably more chance of winning the lottery. On every metric we are absolutely terrible. At least with Glass and Goodwin you could see what they were trying to do. I have struggled since the start of the season to see what the tactics are other than shell the ball forward quickly. It’s eye bleeding stuff. We have no control over the tempo of games, even early on against Stirling we struggled to see a game out. Our defence for having 3 centre halves is shocking but it’s not helped by our non existent midfield. How many times yesterday did the defence win the ball only for st mirren to regain it on the second ball due to gap between defence and midfield. Fans will put up with negative/anti football if you’re winning. Mourinho has made a career out of it. If your not winning then you are in serious bother and if the board don’t make a decision quickly then it will quickly get toxic. I don’t think we have a bad squad and a semi competent manager would get that team playing better and winning games.
  3. Great effort by the players but the tactics were horrendous. at half time a blind man could see the tactics weren’t working. We don’t change and then rangers eventually get a chance and score. if we are going to play long ball you have to get the ball into the channels and get the strikers to pull the centre halves out there. Pretty disappointing I hope he learns but severely doubt it.
  4. I have had my doubts of Robson and his tactics since the start but kept hoping that maybe I was just being too negative and we were just going through a phase of transition. However I don’t really see what we are trying to transition too. As others have said we don’t try and keep the ball or play attacking football. We are set up as a defensive counter attack team which is fine in principle albeit not what I would want to see. In practice however we are a defensive team that can’t defend and since the majority of teams don’t play attacking football we have limited counter attacks. It needs to change but I think Robson is too stubborn to do so. He also seems to be able to pull a result out just when he needs it usually against a team that is out of form (county, rangers, Motherwell) which then in his eyes justifies his eye bleeding tactics. Lastly his use of subs and the squad is truly shocking. We are now in November and Sokler, Gaye, Dadia, Vinnie, Williams, Milne and MacDonald are still to get any significant game time. They will now all have limited match sharpness effecting their ability to have any impact Robson may not rate any of them but when you are constantly bleating about tiredness and too many games surely it makes sense to rotate the squad let’s face it’s not like results could get worse I don’t want another manager sacked but I can’t see Robson turning this round or changing tactics.
