Gerrard has all the managerial potential of being the white John Barnes. Bitter twats still seething that DM told them to fuck off!

hardly - John Barnes as a pundit (my memory recalls euro 96 I think.... a student at the time - my brain was pickled! ) was awful! I may be the change in the nature of punditry but Gerrard seems tactically competent when talking about games....

I just don't see Gerrard as a successful Manager. He doesn't seem that bright to me. It might work with him as a figurehead and an experienced assistant manager and coaching team around him but that costs money as well as the transfer kitty he's sure to want as a safety net.

It ends in tears either way. He fails and gets sacked or the finances spiral even further out of control. It's a toss up which would come first.

Lets be honest. They can spend relative buttons and come comfy second or gazillions and come a a more outstanding em, second.

They need to do the former whilst convincing the fans theyre doing more than the latter.

Aye, I dont think Gerrard will be a world class manager. But any fud with a good few million behind them should be able to get 2nd.

Wouldn't surprise me if Mike Ashley comes back in.

Sell Newcastle to that quine, buy the huns.

It would be a complete waste of time and money. Nobody is going to spend the kind of money that the hun hoards want/need. There is no money to be made in Scottish football, at least no kind of return on the investment sevco crave.

The huns are fucked, forever I would say.

He will, once the huns go into liquidation/administration!! He will pick them up for next to fuck all. But close brothers will pick up the buildings that they have as collateral. Fittiver the fuck the buildings are!!

Steve Gerald will be announced as new hun manager later today. Kinda flies in the face of the administration theories of the last few years.

The old Rangers signed Daniel Cousin on 5k per week the day before they went into administration. It doesn't stop them.

Genuinely have no flippin idea

On the one hand has the potential to be the most exciting and important things to happen to Scottish football for years, raising the profile of Scottish football to unseen heights

one the other it makes no sense whatsoever for Gerrard or for Rangers, a club that have gone along the line of "buy now pay later" players

Looking on with bemusement shock lack of understanding and excitement.

I think if Gerrard comes he clearly will raise the profile and be a good thing for our game in that sense.

And I reckon he'd sign better players then Rangers could attract with Pedro or Murty at the helm.

I just wonder if it could back fire and all become a bit embarrassing if the money he's been assured will be there doesn't actually materialise.

If that happens I don't think he'll take shit off King and co for too long tbh.

Surely, surely his agents have read up on the huns and know about their dodgy deals etc.

They must be financially sound before such a high profile name (like it or not) is taking over.

No brainer for Gerrard. 3 year deal and even if he fails he'll be getting a pay off one way or another.

It just seems such a bizarre choice from Sevco. There are surely proven managers out there that they could attract, who in turn would attract good players... so why Gerrard.

It can obviously only go one of two ways. Success or failure, but the Huns are fickle creatures and Im not convinced they will take to the touch line bosies with Rodgers, which are somewhat inevitable. Will he ramp up the anti Celtic agenda ? Not likely at all.

I think they will give him cash, but not a war chest. This is merely a ploy to shift season tickets and who knows, it may pay off , but I cant see anything other than a flop and him out by Christmas. He is completely unproven which makes predicting this impossible, but either way its a massive gamble, something I dont think they can afford to take right now.
