Ignoring Celtic, the next biggest threat is Rangers.

 

Fourth place allows for the possibility of no European football, which for them is key.

 

Assuming they managed to get through a few rounds, the gate receipts alone would amount to millions. Then there is income from TV, and that's before we consider the group stages.

 

So, I would take a 6-0 defeat to increase our chances of success next season.
