Maybe doing the goals isn't his forte.

There's still a place for him in the team, though.

Just maybe not doing the goals.

Play him as an attacking mid role, like a Rico or a Deano or a Jesso.

Mayo.

Movie critic?

Like Watt at St's

1 goal in every 8 matches. Worse than Mackie/May

Mackie was nearer 1 in 6. He was here for about 14 years scoring 58 goals. 4 a season.

If that's not a goal shy striker then i don't know what is.

May in his ,short time here, has a similar strike rate of 1 in 7, but Id wager any amount you like that if May was here for 14 years he'd score a hell of a lot more than 58 goals.

Not having a go at you Redstar , I was amazed Mackie got so much time at AFC.

It is amazing how pish Mackie’s goal return was, he played pretty much every game. If you just stood still in the bo you could probably manage 4 goals a season by the ball hitting you off the dish and going in.

1 in 7 last season. 1 in 10 this season.

This season.

29 games.

3 goals.

  • 2 x penalties (v St Mirren & Celtic)
  • 1 x tap in right in front of goal v St Mirren in the total absence of the keeper, which he almost put over the paddock roof. Thankfully the net prevented this.

I reserve the right not to count any of them as legit goals*.

Cosgrove has earned the right to have his pens counted due to the quality of his finishing and volume of goals in open play.
Stig of the dump has not.

Move him on this summer. It's all to clear that this is not going to work for both parties. His efforts don't go unappreciated as he is a hard working player with a great attitude, but maybe time for a fresh start.

Or the other option send him out on loan to a club in the championship where hopefully he would bang in the goals and start to build up some confidence again.

Given he still has 2 years left on his contract? loan him out for next season.
If we keep Stewart and play him where he is most effective,we’ve no need for May.
If Stevie can tear it up somewhere else, unlikely, then perhaps could get a fee for him with a year left on his current deal...?

Probably back to St Johnstone on loan in the summer unless he goes on a Cosgoals style spree

:hysterical:

Hey, hold on.

I'd have used that same "hysterical" smiley, if you had told me at the end of November that Cosgrove was about embark on such a spree.

Er.

Still.

:hysterical:

Edit: smiley dammit, nae logo.
