  1. Miller always was and is a winner, and winners want to always win and set the highest bars for themselves. Calderwood accepted mediocrity as success, but was rightly hounded out because of it and subsequent bad appointments since haven't improved that situation. You need to surround yourself with a winning mentality or mediocrity just bleeds into the club. You could argue Millers period of football was very different, but we are kidding ourselves if we don't believe that Rangers and Celtic in that period couldn't still attract the best players in the country. However, Aberdeen were a winning club, we had everything those two clubs didn't at the time and that's why we were successful. We have gradually accepted that period was a "blip", then accepted that finishing 2nd and one cup was okay, then 3rd and no cups was okay, and now top 6 and an appearance in a final is okay. Years and years of mediocrity have led many of us to believe that even the McInnes era and Calderwood era were successful, and that we made mistakes in sacking those managers. I still believe and will always believe they were mediocre managers, and that with the right combination of winning manager mentality, siege mentality and winners as players, we can emulate domestic success. Look at Celtic... they have spent millions and are they all that good for the money they have spent? Were they all that good in 2016? No, I dont think so, its because we cant see past those damn hoops. We dont have winners or winning mentality and it is why we capitulate against them. We have accepted mediocrity and our place as an outsider.
  2. No he was 100% wrong. My expectation is always, every season, for us to challenge for the title and win a cup. That's not to say we can win them, but every single season and every single thing we do should be aimed at trying to achieve that. The worry for me at the club is do the managers, board and players share the same ambition.... well going by Jimmys comment they probably don't. You cant be the best if you dont aim to be the best. Such comments to me, stink of mediocrity. We get third, no cups and everyone should be happy? what because our expectations are too high based on a managers own personal ambition and what he deems as success? Nah sorry. The fans will always and rightfully be the judges of that. The fact no one has won a title in almost 40 years outside of Rangers, Celtic and Sevco is a shambles. We could have and probably should have won one in 2016 and I dont think that was an unrealistic expectation at the time.
  3. The team needs stability. There is too much tinkering, tactics are all over the shop and players with no will to win are still getting picked week in and week out. Christ, they have had 3 managers in six weeks, 4 of you include Leven again, and are all doing something different. It’s a shambles. Now is the time to get someone in before it’s right down to just a few games and we are all getting biscuit arsed about going down.
  4. File under United, Hibs and Hearts. In those seasons they went down, they went from game to game showing improvement one game and then barely registering a shot on goal in the next. We are showing very similar traits and looking at the body language last night, I dont think many players have the desire or inner strength to pull it out of the bag. If we continue to perform like we did last night and collapse like we did against St Mirren, we will be relegated. I just cant see where the points are coming from at the minute, and i'm clinging to a sliver of hope that we can perform like we did against Killie last weekend and grind out a few points to keep us safe along the way. We have Motherwell, County, Livi and Dundee before the split. County have a tough run with Hearts, us (ahem) Killie and Rangers, but we have to beat County otherwise it could be tatties. Bottom 6 games after the split are going to be abysmal to watch, scrappy and difficult.
  5. I couldn't agree more. There are even folk on Twitter saying that it will come good... but that cant be based on anything other than arrogance.
  6. Posters on here... tonight... saying they are confident we can beat County and wont be relegated.
  7. Anyone on here knocking their in pan in any normal job, who then sees their clueless chairman bring in 3 managers, who come and go in six weeks, is 100% going to change their attitude. Miovski is no different. We forget he is 24 years old... he is just a young lad trying to better himself and his career and Dave has fucking derailed that with his tinkering and ineptitude. We would all be in the same boat.
  8. Anyone who thinks we cant be relegated isn't watching the games. Players are done and dusted. Tools have been downed, heads are down, 3 managers in 6 weeks with no tactics or stability... we are doomed at this rate. Teams around us are picking up points and have a bit of fight about them. We were in injury time before we even registered a shot on target tonight... against Dundee... fucking Dundee.
  9. What makes you say that ? Blind faith? We havent won in 11 league games and Dundee Utd and Raith could definitely beat us right now. Thats the reality. We can 100% go down and nothing is proving it otherwise at the moment
  10. Its over ... tonight was a must win. We are fucked.
  11. Outplayed by a team managed by Tony Doc... thats how fucking far we have tumbled.
  12. Penalty aside, it has been an absolutely gutless performance
