maybe itll clear it up if i explain that by "spastic", i just meant a handicap of some sort - thats all
if thats incorrect and it caused kilkito offence, then i offer an unreserved apology
see this is classic...you refer to yourself or others, as being in a superior position to me when im arguing
I was offering up possible scenarios, not what I think to be the reason. I didn't actually say my position was superior, although naturally if I didn't feel a position was superior then I wouldn't adopt it. The logical extension of that is that YOU believe YOUR position to be superior, otherwise you wouldn't adopt it. No-one rationally adopts a position that they believe to be logically inferior unless they just really like fighting.
Again, you took my comment entirely the wrong way.
how the fuck do you work that out?
its BECAUSE you THINK youre in a superior position that i do argue
No.. look... christ... The most common reason for people adopting a position is BECAUSE they believe it to be the superior position. You don't adopt an argument based upon thinking your own argument sucks. It would be like trying to argue Mars is bigger than Saturn.... why would anyone adopt an INFERIOR position? Rationally, adopting the position that Mars is bigger than Saturn makes no sense based upon the premise that you deliberately adopt a contrary position based upon what is perceived as someone adopting a superior position.
My fucking head hurts just having to type that... I can't even begin to imagine what reading that line cold is like.
Regardless, we ALL think our position is superior.... otherwise why would we adopt that position?
Are you telling me that you're arguing simply because it's a contrary position to mine, and you're aware that you're wrong?*
but im glad you can differentiate between tup and i, thats comfortin
It really shouldn't be.
Tup I see as an adopted persona, one he dumps at the door on the way out of this room. If, however, tup is like tup in real life then maybe some dudes carrying butterfly nets are in his future.
*I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm suggesting the possibility of adopting an argument despite knowing it's wrong... just for the hell of it.
