King Street Loon
Gallagher... ace...possibly better than Hayes....rapid as fuck. Hope we can keep him beyond November. Hedges...decent butvI am nonplussed. Wilson, the little we saw of him, he looked decent. Rest of team get pass Mark's and little more with the exception of Deanonwhl looked very composed when he came on. Certainly composure well beyond his years. Also though Mclennen terrified them and would have liked to see him o a bit sooner. McGinn did brilliantly for the 1st goal, but thought that he drifted in and out of the game. The goal at the end was a sickener, but they were outclassed. Their keeper had 3 word class saves, 2 top drawer saves and even the save feo Cosgrove's shot around the last 10 minutes was decent, butvwas fired at him in fairness. No real worry about going through, butvwe need to get sharper.Bit soon to be saying Gallagher is better than Hayes was for us. Wait until he plays against the Scottish teams week in week out before saying that.As for their keepers saves.World class? Do me a favour Link to comment
1983
Agreed, there was nothing world class about anything on display last night. Link to comment
CraigHill
Nowhere near as bad as some of the doom and gloom merchants in here see.Decent tempo, decent passing, movement. Created plenty.New guys looked like good additions. Some woeful finishing and a lapse in concentration which they will get a rollicking for.Need to get Bryson fit and the new midfielder in, get them both embedded and we’ll be in very good shape. Positive signs. 2 Link to comment
PHDDon
On paper it's a poor result but thought overall the performance was good against(an albeit poor)side who are up to full match sharpenss at this stage of their season. We were let down by people not taking chances and their keeper making a few great saves, that would have been 4 or 5 if we were at the same stage of season as opposition. Gallagher surprisingly looks a player and with him and Hedges both seeming happy playing centrally or out wide we look to have game changing options this season that we lacked last time round. My only major criticism is for the defense, weak clearance from Logan and Devlin caught half asleep so both have to shoulder the blame and must do better going forward 1 Link to comment

The Boofon
A disgraceful result. All that's needed is a SOTR prediction that we'll breeze into the next round to confirm our exit. 1 Link to comment

Andy_123
Logan had one in the first half as well where he played a 5 yard pass to nobody at the corner of the box and they were in on goal, but luckily they fucked it up. Every time we put a couple quick passes together, we cut right through them. They are pretty shite, and have their keeper to thank for making a lot of decent saves. We should be winning pretty comfortably over there like we should have won more comfortably yesterday. Link to comment

Bamber
look at the result this way Aberdeen 4.425 ROPS 1.455 so if we came up against team with a coefficient of 13 say Rijeka (13.5) we would think we had a chance and we will have to beat at least one team with that sort of coefficient If we came away with a 2-1 result away from home we would be happy but we would know we are not favourite and we have it all to do a saying I know but the next goal is so important half time at 3-1 everything is ace at 2-2 or even 2-1 it becomes very nervy its not the end of the world but it is ok I would say - couple of seasons ago post first leg we thought we were good enough to leave players (McGinn) at home, telling the team it was all done and then played awfully this time professional is the order of the day hardly played for 2 months - if I have it right less than 5 players with one or less European games before last night it showed at times - i'm sure fergusson McKenna and devlin now remember what a ball looks like get a goal in the first 30 mins and this is easy, go in at half time drawing or losing and we will struggle 1 1 Link to comment

Bamber
but we made a lot of very very good chances - id be more worried winning 2-0 make 3 chance than winning 2-1 making 30 whats to predict? we will make a load of chances - especially given the need to go in at 1/2 time in the lead, a number of chances is an absolute given Link to comment

McIness may have realised a clever ploy in enhancing his otherwise predictable 4-2-3-1. He definitely wants to develop other options beyond the two crossers and the big man in the middle, which was the format of much of our play with Hayes-Rooney-McGinn. We can now list five 'wingers' in McGinn, Mclennan, Wright, Hedges and Gallagher with Wilson and Main giving us different options for the striker positions, allowing us to hit on the break. Doesn't look too bad on paper although some of these players remain unproven, there's potential there at least. We do need to get that other quality midfielder you feel. COYR Link to comment

StandFree1982
We grew into the game and were very comfortable until that sucker punch at the end. We really need Bryson or someone else in the centre of the park in the second leg to give us some proper balance and spine. They were pretty shite tbf, they rode their luck a hell of a lot, particularly with the last minute blocks, our players managing to hit the keeper everytime and their keeper making some very good saves. We'll score over there, i'm pretty certain of that. Link to comment
The_Next_Legend
We will win over there We absolutely dominated last night, stupid goal to concede but fuck me some negative bastards on here Will stroll into the second round 4 Link to comment
boboisared
Wasn't as bad as being made out on here. Far from it. Cosgrove missed far too many chances but at least he was getting himself in to the positions. I'm confident we'll put at least three past them next week when they have to come out of their own half. Was thinkig their left back looked decent on the ball and could fizz in ridiculous passes from 50 yards. Forgot it was Taiwo who was some player about a decade ago. Gallagher was fantastic. You can tell he doesn't quite have the mental side of the game down but his pace will be a ridiculous asset. 1 Link to comment
King Street Loon
My only issue is the lack of clinical finishing, but hopefully that'll come.We ran out of steam when Campbell came on. He was very tidy amd disciplined which helped, but i felt we were sitting a bit deep the last 5 mins for my liking and that's where we conceded.Still think we'll go through though. Link to comment

DandyWarhol
Only 1 clean sheet for us at Pittodrie so far in 2019, and that was back in January. We just always look like conceding in home matches these days. Not solely blaming him, but Devlin's form has been poor since he came back from injury. Link to comment

God said the same about Dean, that team started sitting deeper and became more negative. Players probably ran out of steam a little as well. I would fancy Dean will start next week. Link to comment

He looked fine last night, but definite switch off for the goal. I was prepared to put the latter few months of the season down to lingering effects of a bad injury, given how good he'd been beforehand, but probably won't take too much persuasion for McInnes to start playing Taylor. COYRInteresting that Liam Macleod was making the same comparison. When commenting on the “small, nippy player swinging in cross after cross” Hayes was the obvious comparison but no it was the link up play of MacLean that he was seeing. Link to comment
Clydeside_Sheep
It was a largely dominant performance from us, though we were rough round the edges. 2-0 would have been a decent result, had we not fucked it at the end - typical. Would have been much more, if not for poor finishing and their keeper having a few good saves. Think we will go through - nothing to fear except our own capacity to balls things up - though the 2nd leg will now be much more fraught than it needed to be. Link to comment
AllyDon
Feel like playing Hedges, Gallagher and McGinn will suit a player like Wilson upfront. Should be plenty of pace in the team this year for someone more nimble to exploit.Agree. Link to comment
