Honestly haven't seen a squad nearly this strong since 1989/90 under willie Miller. Today - I was looking at the Aberdeen squads from 96 onwards. Its actually appalling to see the recruitment we made during that time up until Craig Brown joining. Theres no surprise we were so poor for so long - we simply signed utter crap. Thankfully we've learned our lesson.

I still think we are two players short of what would be ideal to compete in all three domestic competitions I think we still need another defender and a midfielder. We may not be as lucky with injuries as we have been in recent seasons. Hopefully one more permanent signing (it seems the money was there for both Maloney and either May or Moult) and a loan signing to beef the squad out to where it needs to be.

 

Luckily we have some adaptable players like Shinnie, McLean, Arnason and O'Connor who can comfortably play in more than just one position.

Lots of options for the line up. Quality players all over the forward areas. Players with potential do get better as they re find good form and confidence and understanding with each other.

 

Christie, Shinnie and Wright have started well but can't wait to see GMS, Stewart, Maynard, May all start to find their A game with us - its going to be incredible when they do.
