You know who's still available as a decent squad player?

Fraser Fyvie. Ex-United captain.

Currently on a free.

He stood along the bar from Billy Stark and I in the casino around 4am on Saturday.

Made eye contact with us and left immediately.

This "lazy scouting" argument is baffling. We've a whole midfield to source as well as some creative players attacking who can break teams down and probably at least another striker. Central defence is not a priority and what we needed was depth, why would we waste scouting resources on a position that isn't a priority?

Are we to believe that Ash was being tracked for a return before being released by Northampton or did we just seize on the opportunity due to our actual defensive targets choosing to look elsewhere? Agree our backline is not really the priority area for strengthening given we've tied down Consi & Logan although we're effectively starting with the same players that didn't have the best of seasons, especially at home. There's still a big question mark over the future of McKenna and its entirely possible if a sizeable bid comes in he'll be off, so Id be disappointed if our scouts aren't planning for that eventuality.

Wonder who our scout was looking at if that’s the case?

Scout was Russ Richardson.  He was at the game looking at someone else... he was sat next to Ash Taylor and asked him why he was on the sidelines?  Was he injured or suspended?  Neither was the response... he explained he was surplus to requirements and the rest, unfortunately, is history.

EDIT: misread your question!

Joe Powell

Academy of Football graduate Joe Powell is a versatile performer able to fill a variety of roles across the midfield and at left-back.

A creative left-sided player, Powell has played regularly for West Ham United's age-group sides since joining the Club as a schoolboy, captaining the U18s and U23s to boot.

The younger brother of fellow professional and former Academy player Jack, the talented youngster registered two assists for Grady Diangana on his memorable first-team debut - the 8-0 Carabao Cup third-round win over Macclesfield Town at London Stadium on 26 September 2018.

Powell joined Northampton Town for the remainder of the 2018/19 EFL League Two season on 21 January 2019.

Its things like that last paragraph that make me realise there's no point in engaging most people on here anymore

What fucking relevance is there in saying that?

The window isn't even open yet and there is NO way we will start with considine left back

The fire now is too big for me to control, I'm out

I guess that'll get the same reaction as Thatcher when she left Downing St in tears.
