Cormack Thread

That you wouldn't travel 8 miles to go and watch the Dons play baffles me...

With apologies to the pubs that depend on current match day punters but I'd rather be getting pissed up and the profits going to fund the next Cosgrove or Ferguson...

You mean I can go and have some decent scran there before/after a game that's not a chargrilled on the outside and undercooked on the inside pie ? Great sign me up.

I can go and watch 90 minutes of abject hoofball where the gaffer game manages the game at 54 minutes and then drops 2 points - I can do that now too !

Plenty fans want a match day experience and if you don't that's fine too - rock up at 2.55pm and fuck off at 4.40pm like you usually do to "avoid the traffic"...

Like fucking politics at the moment this is about creating a club experience that appeals to as many people as possible not just the individual customised set up that suits you...

who has ever said it would be a bigger Tony Macaroni? You seen the plans? The application was just covering heights and dimensions nothing said it will look like that.

What is actually wrong with the Tony Macaroni Arena - the name and the plastic pitch apart?

It holds 8,000, and is far better than any other similar sized stadium in Scotland - Dens Park, McDiarmid Park, Falkirk Stadium, etc.

When full it creates a good atmosphere too. If it's "soulless" it's because Livingston have no fans.

A 20,000 version would be a cracking stadium.

Bold move by Cormack.

Bring back Willie Miller  as manager (last decent manager we had) if he still has some balls about him.

Barry Robson as his number two with a view to being his long term replacement.

Give McInnes a pretendy DOF role until the end of his contract.

imagine Miller & Robson coaching. Oucha, no slacking off/holding back in training & certainly no boring approaches to games & giving the opposition any undue respect.

Laugh if you like but do you think it would be worse than the current situation?

Aye, cos Willie would work under McInnes who you suggest would be Director of Football.

I think that ship has sailed, but one thing's for sure; we played some of the best football in our history in Miller's first two and a half seasons, including being a whisker away from knocking one of Italy's top sides out of Europe and running a rampant Orcs (diseased deceased) a close second, when they were actually a force in Europe. Sadly, Miller is lost to the game, though some would argue he was/is his own worst enemy.

I'd like to see Robson kick on, though.

:hysterical:

All of them are complete shite.

Thread title needs fixed.

Secondly why would Kingsford be like the Tony Macaroni Arena? They'd be absolutely nothing alike.

I get the angst over the proposed location, it's definitely further out than it should be and travel will be a real problem but some of the shite written about a stadium that doesn't exist yet is just daft.

I think the location (rightly) is a big issue for a lot.

This will probably add to the cynicism that the stadium will be “bland”.

Flat stands that aren’t steep enough for folks liking. All done to pander to a few NIMBY’s.

No safe standing - too expensive.

Add that to the location, & it’s not a positive outlook.

If all that is true, then it would be shite.

We are not going to claim the new stadium will increase matchday revenue by between £3m and £5m per year and then build a red Almondvale.

Now Cormack is on board I'd expect hospitality/bar/whatever on all four sides of the stadium.

We've already been running trials with lower cost hospitality offerings which is surely with a view to offering more alternatives when there is the space

Cormack is a breath of fresh air and even though he's not officially taken over the role you can see new initiatives are being trialed.  The motorbike boy, the e-sports thing, at least something is happening whether it makes a positive impact or not - it's all geared towards the younger generation which is the future of the club.  Hopefully they won't be as miserable as the current majority of supporters.  Obviously the main cheer will come from business on the pitch, challenging for the league, cup wins along with Europa league group success but the greatest journey begins with one step.  Hopefully other backwards thinking matchday operational staff will follow others out the door or at least severely change attitudes towards supporters.

Aye, mention that to the club representative who took down a flag/banner in the RDS the other week & kicked the boy out :-)

Yeah I don't get the whinging about things we don't know anything about yet and may never happen.

Might as well just rip Cormack to shreds now for making shite managerial appointments for the next 10 years, fucking up the finances and not winning anything in his future tenure.

Just them hoping the stadium is shit in hope they are proven right on a forum. I don't even need to name them, everyone knows the clowns I'm on about.

Lol that’s why I said ‘pretendy’ DOF role until end of contract.

Anyway, much as I hate McInnes as manager for his negative tactics & over cautious approach to most games especially in giving teams far too much respect. I would be one of the first to admit he has still been a great asset to our off field improvements & bringing us up to date there.

He does also speak well in the media lol

Gets what? There's very little options out there to get a drink

the stadium would have at least 1 bar that the club would make money from. The club are also looking at putting on a fanzone that would have a massive bar to cater for fans which would also bring more revenue to the club. You don’t need any bars if that is the case. Let’s not forget that it’s the minority of fans that get pissed up before games not the entire attendance!

The plans had the supporters bar capacity at 400. Good luck fitting everyone in there.

Fanzone might work if we moved to summer football

Cormack said they're now considering making it the length of the north stand after being impressed with the one Tottenham have. That would hold considerably more than 400.

Also, this "there's no bars in Westhill" chat has been debunked ages ago.

Again, what's wrong with Almondvale? It's just small, that's all.

Did I say there were "no bars in Westhill"?
