Aberdeen sack Derek McInnes

Recommended Posts

Things would have to get properly bad (and I mean like, relegation-trouble bad) before there was even a hint of McInnes being emptied.

He's Milne's man through-and-through and is now firmly interwoven with the fabric of the club... viz his statements on the new stadium etc.

The only way he'd leave would be if an English job came up that he fancied and felt wasn't beneath him, but paradoxically the worse he does with us (and it's hardly going brilliantly at the moment), the less likely that is to happen.

Nope, we're stuck with him for a while yet. Just try and be at peace with it.

It was a name that had come up in conversation. Believe he went in and immediately got them 2nd or something. Like I said it was an example of an up and coming manager. Wasn't touting him for the AFC job because as I'd said, I don't know enough about him.

Quite easy to shit on an opinion without offering one of your own though m7+1.

My opinion is you were talking shite, again.

You fire in a name you've heard someone else mention, whilst knowing nothing about him or his management record. But that's ok as he's 'up and coming'. 5th in the welsh league, managing a semi pro team.lolz

Barry ferguson was also once an 'up and coming' manager.

. So what happens next season when Mcinnes has signed his usual loanees who really don't give a shit about AFC and Aberdeen finish in the bottom 3. Do the supporters have to suffer this shit all this season then all next before dumplin Milne sees the light.

Yeah, probably. I'm arguing in defence of this position, just I think that is the position.

McInnes isn't getting sacked any time soon. Milne loves him and, like it or not, McInnes has earned the right to be given time to turn this season around.

He's been a very, very good manager for us. Sacking him for a dodgy start to the season would be ridiculous and would certainly put prospective candidates off.

We're 90 minutes from a cup final and have 3/4th's of the season to make up ground on those above us. McInnes has frustrated me of late but it's important to try and be level-headed. There's every possibility we'll turn this around.

And there's every possibility they won't. When they run out on the Ibrox arena they will be like rabbits caught in the. Headlights AGAIN.

Roy Keane would set the cat among the pigeons, but history tells us he'd make an impact but also many enemies, even among his own team... Then bail at the first sign of trouble.

Clarke is a good shout, as a short term placement, before he uses us to launch his career down south.

Derek Adams is well thought of at Plymouth, also knows the club very well.

Strachan is a nonstarter, as is McLeish. Lennon likewise.

Jack Ross, if he doesn't succeed in present employment?

I may get stick for this, but isn't Tommy Wright at least worth a shout, as someone who has consistently punched above his weight AND regularly outsmarted McInnes in key games? (Unlike DMC, Wright has learned from past mistakes... witness the 4-0 LC mauling overturned by their SC victory in 2013-14)
